*Official* Sri Lanka in Pakistan Thread

Yes Indeed a good performance by Pakistanis . I hope some body is going to tell their batsmen that test is supposed to be played in 5 full days .
This is the problem which arises when you play a lot of one dayers .
Afridi seems to be a good bowler and looks like Russell Crowe. !!!

SL 208 all out in the last over of the day.

Buchnor being plagued by his usual problems :D it seems!!

82.1 Abdul Razzaq to Herath, OUT: a good ball on the off stump that
seamed away and an appeal for caught behind upheld by umpire
Bucknor but Herath seemed unlucky as the replays screen shows the
bat had hit the boot

Earlier Atapattu's catch was also said to be a dubious decision.

Pakistan will commence their innings on Day 2, very much on top.

Atapattu looked out, IMO
You saw it, I did not. So I will take your word for it. :)

What I said above was from the Cricinfo commentary.

Good to see the young Pakistan bowlers measuring up at test level and bowling well. ( I mean Afridi and Kaneria ).

harmison faster then shoiab thats a joke.Shoiab and sami when bowling at full pace are faster then harmo.I havent seen harmo bowl consistently at 95mph for 5 overs only at 90mph-91mph consistently.
harmo is not faster at the moment, but with his high arm action and his height he can become fastest if he wants to. I also like shabbir and his action still doesnt seem very fluid even after its been modified, he can also become a speedster.

Harmison hit 98.1mph (that's 158kph) this summer and consistently averages in the low 90s (that's 145+).
Really???? That's mental. Difference between Harmison and Aktar is he doesn't have to strain to bowl, when you look at Aktar he looks constantly knackered.

To be fair Bond and Lee did it in the 03' WC a few times. Though those pitches seemed especially fast, i remember Zaheer Khan getting low 90's which isn't usually his speed.

That was either altitude or speedometers. Too many bowlers hit paces they've not been at before or since for it to be coincedental.

5 overs spells all that quick?

And the altitude etc. made those speeds artificially high.

Pakistan off to a flier. 1/41 after 10 overs. Yasir Hameed out for 3.

Imran Farhat in a very attacking mode. 27 off 30 balls with 5 fours.

Pakistan are absolutely killing SL, ATM. :boxed:  :( :bag:

1/120 . Imran Farhat 65 (off 88 balls), Younis Khan 52 (off 68 balls).

The SL bowling looks totally inoccuous and is being smashed around by the two brilliant Pakistani batsmen, and on a turner like this the absence of Murali is clearly showing.

Finally Vaas gets the break thru'. Imran Farhat lbw Vaas 72 . Pakistan 2/135

New batsman Inzy the great.

I had been watching both matches side by side, and there is a difference between the way the Pakistanis were batting from the way the Indians pretended to bat. Imran, Younis and Inzy just worked the ball into gaps, ran hard and played out more than a few overs. No more were they fishing outside the off-stump. Really simple stuff. Why couldn't the Indians bat that way?
