He's been tested - he's within the rules. Your vision simply cannot be trusted because it's been proven that bowlers who looked normal bowled illegally. Murali has been tested more than any other bowler in the history of the game and he's been exonerated every time.

Not this crap again...so the limit was changed to 15 degrees to appease Asia when under the old guidelines, virtually all bowlers were 'chucking'...yep, makes perfect sense.

I knew this would happen. Some people just have to bring up the old 'chucking' whinge whenever Murali does well against their team.
I have to give credit to the vast majority of NZ fans though - most on this forum have been great.
I'm not a kiwi. I'm an Aussie.

And being tested in a lab is NOT the same as bowling on the ground, in the heat of battle. I hardly think Murali is walking in to bowl thinking, "I must not flex my arm more than 15 degrees".

It's not worth worrying about too much. They'll change the rules again to 30 degrees in no time. All the money's in Asia
Probably.

Can i just say:

NO BALLLLLLLLLLLLLLLLLLLLLLLLLLLLLLLLLLLLLLLLLLL

For the record, I was watching Murali bowling and I have issues with that doosra too. Even allowing an extra 15 degrees for his deformity, it still looked like AT LEAST a 30 degree flexion.
How on earth can you tell the flexion from watching on TV without the highly sophisticated cameras?

Without sounding too naive, the ICC aren't too worried about clamping down on chuckers, and they tried their best to get Murali and failed, if there was a sniff of chuck, they would have been down on him like a tonne of bricks.

The Wheel is Forever
Here you can listen to Crowe's lecture. One of these days I am going to give my reasoning on the matter, and why I feel the way I do. But 0% of avoiding the flame war, so going to ignore that now. Too many idiots.

Anyway, lets get back to the game. SL still very much in the lead. They drew in England and now they look like drawing in NZ...awesome for SL cricket.

Well, I spent the weekend lying on the bank at the Basin, and even though we were bollocks, I had a great time.

Sri Lanka (if they win this), will have deserved it, they've been by far the better team. On the other hand, they've been merely solid, the kiwis have bowled well and batted like girls, doing themselves no favours and the Lankans a lot.

A big hand  to Sanga and Silva for their big innings - they're the only batsmen who've really done their jobs on a fairly benign pitch. A cheer for Dan Vettori also, I'd like to take credit for his 10-fer as I very vocally proclaimed on Friday in front of all my mates that he was absolutely harmless and should be dropped.

To all those banging on in this thread about Murali's action: build a bridge and get over it! he's been found innocent a million times by the ICC, he's a gun bowler and a top bloke.

To Jason: where are your biased umpires now, you knob?

To those bagging How and Cumming: ****e they may be, but their opening stands have been OK so far: 3, 58, 30, 56. Far better than most recent combos.

To Stephen Fleming: what on earth was that???

Vettori doing his best crab impersonation vs Malinga here. Absolutely no idea against him. Play the ball, not the bowler, people...

How about Franklin or Vettori, to open the batting. They're our best batsmen it seems .....I suppose it doesnt matter because our next test match is so far away, but our top six batsmen have to change.

Have any of our top six scored a fifty in the sries?, Im not sure.

Well done to Sri Lanka. Malinga and Murali were just too good.

One advantage of not playing another Test until next year is not having to think about the huge problems we have in that form of the game. NZ (hopefully) playing well in these ODIs, in Australia and maybe even in the World Cup might take my mind off it for now.

I guess SL don't have any more Tests in the near future either? A shame, with Sangakkara and Silva in such good form with the bat and Malinga and Murali bowling so well they'd be a handful for any opposition at the moment.

TVNZ ran a poll earlier this week asking whether it was more likely that Steve Harmison would take 5 wickets or Chris Martin would score 5 runs. Close but no cigar.

I can't believe I ate the whole thing
Sri Lanka absolutely thumped us. 200+ margin is huge. Our batsmen seemed to have no clue against Malinga, and Murali was class as usual (even thoguh we usually play him fairly well).

MOTM would be a tough one. Silva and Sanga with centuries, Vettori and Murali with 10 wickets each (Vettori also hitting 50).

MOTS would be Sangakkara as hardly anyone else scored runs.

Out of the top order, Cumming scored the most runs for us. How had a couple of good scores but will need to back up in domestic cricket until the next test series.

Keep Cumming for that next series, watch How's form, hopefully Astle will have retired and Sinclair will, like How, need to score some domestic runs.

Bowling seems alright, though. But I'd like to see Gillespie fit in there, somewhere. probably at the expense of Bond who will no doubt get injured.

Roll on the short form games! Should be a very interesting contest :)
