***Official** Sri Lanka in New Zealand

That was pathetic, such an easy chance that Fleming dropped

Tbh Twenty20 isn't attracting me that much now either. I used to wake up at 3 am to watch NZ and Sri Lanka play in the test matches, but I don't know why I don't even feel like watching this match. The lack of tactics is showing, and the effects of it on the fans that know how important test and ODI Cricket is. I probably won't even watch the second Twenty20

Lol, thrilling finish? No one wanted to be out there, and I reckon no one wants back on to the ground. Maybe perhaps Jayasuriya so he can ton up.

Good call.

I'm only watching because I have to write the report for CW...find it the least interesting form of the game by far.

Was good to see McCullum play well at the top of the order though, might be worth giving that a try in an ODI...but he has to take the gloves too IMO, waste of a spot in the side if another keeper plays.

Watch one day they will start coming out with 5 matches Twenty20 series, and they will have Twenty20 warm up matches for this series. Cricket is being ruined.

Good half century to Jayasuriya, and it was James Franklin who dropped the catch, not Stephen Fleming.

Hope Kiwis will be looking to be back on the ground..otherwise they might lose under D/L

McCullum did look good, but I guess you gotta decide whether you'd rather him there at the death or opening for NZ.

It would be better he opens for Nz rather than come at the end. He can make full utilise of the Powerplays. He is good at hitting over the in field cleverly:happy:

That uniform is so ugly.
Sanath Jayasuriya must feel old, he was playing when NZ used that uniform in ODIs.

Quite insulting to him to use it as a retro uniform.

Poor Jayasuriya. I don't get how the team never said anything against it..it's the ugliest uniform I have seen in any sport tbh

I can't believe I ate the whole thing
Pretty poor end to a poor game of cricket.

Roll on the ODI's (yeah, looking forward to them now). This Cricket Diet-Lite is so freaking poor.

Edit: Love the uniforms though.

Sanath .... what a gun, Fastest 50 in the format. Once again the commentry is totally biased unproffessional ...... Horrible !

When Fleming and Mccallum was tonking the ball the comms were almost having an orgasm ..... but when Sanath was thrashing the ball all around deathly silence/ 8-)

Those quality '92 kits. Going to have a look for one on eBay now. Only saw a couple of minutes worth of highlights this morning, but I was suprised to see Jayawardene bowling - IIRC he bowled a fair bit when he first emerged. Chamara Silva's leg-breaks looked handy as well.

Anyone think Sri Lanka could be a decent force in the World Championships next year? They've got four decent batters (although only one real big hitter), Vaas to bowl in the fielding restrictions and at the death, Jayasuriya's darters and Murali's unplayability. One problem could be the backup seamers though - Maharoof could get battered.

He use to bowl a bit of seam up, was supposedly bowling off spin today but he did look a wee bit rusty. Shame Dilshan wasn't playing he could sent down an over or two.

Thought it was decent game, New Zealand really should have got at least 190+ considering the start they got but after the first two went the ub(b)er slogger mode took over and they just fell apart. Good stuff by Sri Lanka to bring it back, think they only gave away 60 of the last ten which is fantastic.

Incidentally New Zealand's kit is awesome! :)
