So I don't see reason for him to be taken off.
137 FC runs @ 12 is a pretty unforgivable season, especially for someone based on Christchurch pitches.

If I was Fulton I'd start asking Papps why he's the one earning an NZC wage to be honest, making sure he pays for the Crusaders tickets, etc. :)

the NZ bowlers are getting belted by Mahela. good for him that he got runs, after the poor show on the field.

Perfect batting conditions for the sri lankans you'd have to say. No seam, not too much bounce and flat as a pancake.

I must say from a NZ point of view, I'd like to have seen a lot more grass from day1

No Murali, No Vettori

Very likely draw.

Great fight back from the boys, there have been many in the past overseas that we have collasped on, great to see a bit of heart in the batting. Great captain knock from Atapattu just brilliant what a hundred. It great to see Jayawardne get some runs away from hopefully he hac turn this one into a big one and prove to himself and many critics that he can bat overseas.

Hopefully they can keep going on inparticular the run rate, some very attacking batting by Jayawardene, avoid the follow on get hundred behind that send the kiwi back and put the ball back in their court. We will see 120 odd runs to get, i think.

Also good effort by Martin to get the first two wickets, i have seen many bowlers who smacked by Australia, just fade away quickly. Looks like he may not be another one, good for him.

Bored, bored, bored! I am sooooooo damn bored!

I've been a huge cricket fan for over 25 years... but for the first time in my life, I have completely lost interest in the game.

This season has done absolutely nothing to promote cricket here in NZ. First there was the outright caning by the Australians... and now this! [snore] If I was a youngster growing up these days, I'd be interested in anything BUT cricket.

Few! Much needed wicket, well done Astle. Well done Marvan! Collapse boys... :D

You`ve got just over 5 overs to do it... and you`ve only taken 3 wickets so far in 90-odd overs.

It cant be anything other than a draw now.
Well batted to the srilankans, it isn't always as easy as it looks when the opposition scores 561.

But the pitch is really way too flat for cricket and I'd call it a horrible pitch. Why are we doing this? bring back the pitches we had in 2003 vs india, much more exciting cricket.

Not sure about that if both captains set sporting declarations, i.e if Atapattu declares behind and Fleming set a challenging total for Sri Lanka in the 4th Innings. 350 to get on the last day or something
