Nothing much more that can be added here, is there...

Apart from the priceless experience of watching the culmination of both of the last two Test matches with my kids, them watching me on the edge of my seat, and carrying those memories forever of how epic this sport can be and the emotions that ride with it. Absolutely ****ing epic.

*thinking Steadishly* seems like this team puts on some exciting matches I'll keep this squad for the next three years
*Thinking Whiteishly" We've had some damn exciting test matches with great crowds this year, I'll schedule five for the next decade.
**** off you blokes!!! Don't bring the harsh reality right now, we just won two historic Tests.

Seriously though, isn't Tests v T20s the ultimate encapsulation of society at present? You can have your quick fix, dopamine hit, social media instant gratification of T20 (and apparently that's where the world is going) or your slow burn, delayed gratification, deep pleasure of Test cricket. We're ****ed as a society if something as rich as five-day international cricket no longer has a place.

What's the analogy to Test cricket in modern society?

Not coherent atm but I think this pins too much on the fans.

We're still here. We're being told by grey voids of humans that no we actually like t20 because this is a narrative that suits the grey voids. It's like how desperate this same species is to tell us we like Facebook etc. We're actually starting to move away from constant social media in the under 40s. Zoomers hate FB.

Look at all the people who hate test cricket in the crowd over the past 5 days.

It doesn't pin it on hardcore fans like you and I. It pins it on the 'average viewer' or whatever BS David White and his narrow-sighted ICC fishhead cronies want to suggest props up the game.

I can't wait for the revolution away from short term ****wittery like TikTok, T20, Tesla and whatever other T bullshit is the flavour of the month.
