Massive wicket, could be worth about 30 runs that, even in 24 overs. Guptill was looking menacing.

to whoever said latham going was good, that's why there is no such thing as a good wicket for the batting side.

i swear kane gets out caught and bowled more often than normal.

Heh, the talk about Worker giving it a bigger nudge than Latham has started. Doull probably lining Worker up for the T20 WC.

there absoltuely are occasions where a batsmen getting out is a positive for the batting side.

The thing about Nelson is, although it's very sunny, when it does rain it tends to be all day. I don't expect we'll finish a game today.

Coaching pace is really easy. Coaching how to bowl faster while not wrecking back/knee isn't.
Have to disagree on that. Coaching a player to bowl faster isn't just about getting them to use more effort, it's about making more efficient use of the effort they're already using. By fixing the flaws in their action and/or building strength you're gonna make them faster and less injury prone. It's not an either or situation.

Agree with you in part, that certainly the case when a coach is adding an extra few kmh to a bowler. However anything more than that and you get into NZ 90's Bowling Academy territory, where bodies conditioned into a certain action for years can't deal with major changes.

Patto being a counter example of this, Having lost a yard of pace he's somewhat reverted to his old action, what felt right for him is blistering quick.

the bowling academy didn't try renovate houses though, they knocked them down and built a bunch of ****ty weetbix developments out in rototuna which is slightly different. We're just talking about strengthening a few walls and maybe adding a room or two.

no one but hamilton people will get this analogy but it's genius.

who are the hillcrest and queenswood of fast bowlers?

bracewell is definitely hillcrest. Rough around the edges, beer crates serve as the standard furiture and there isn't a room in the house with decent wallpaper but it somehow gets a job done until you find something better.
