Mathews' bowling is only needed in conditions which suits him. No one asks him to bowl long spells in SC conditions. But bowling long spells in low temperatures in Eng / NZ / SAF shoudn't be as hard as in SL. Mathews' all is needed when we play overseas. In SC there are plenty other batsmen who can play spin and bowl spin for long periods of time.

So are you suggesting that physically his body is fine and should be up to bowling more and with a higher intensity, even if it's just in less taxing temperatures?

Boult on fire, significant movement, meh batting.

He's just a lazy ****.. he underbowls himself even in ODIs all the time.

Yeah I'm glad Sanga is out because Mathews is the best batsman against swing bowling in the world. Bit of a compulsive hooker but is good at it so gets away with it. He's wasted at #5 batting below Thirimanne. Chandimal should be in this team somewhere too.

Along the wicket bowler at brisk pace means he comes onto the bat nicely so goes for runs even if he's in the wickets.
