This is still insanely close to free money ($1.90) in a two-horse race (not really three, as the weather is predicted to stay as is). I'd be walloping a couple hundred on, more for the fact that I never win a thing at the TAB and that might result in a famous victory.

More likely it'd result in the forecast changing, the heavens opening and a draw. But hey, 1-0 series win.

4.50, seriously? Surely they're still favourites. Amazing it's got to this point, however

Prophetic thoughts from yours truly last year.

$1.95 on SRL at the TAB atm is still very good value. Either of Watling or KW nick off early tomorrow and that's all she wrote. You can also hedge the draw in the unlikely event of rain given that it's currently paying nearly $10.
It's ridiculous. It will only take one mistake from either of these two and an India win is assured.

Your thoughts on 17/2/2014. Mr Consistency

Heath, Kiwininja etc., is this test more or less enjoyable without Dan and me there?

Less right?
Indeed. The bigger the turnout, the better the Test. Plus, my National voting colleagues would love you both pumping overseas tourist dollars into the New Zealand economy. Especially if you'd purchased some oil exploration rights or a farm or two whilst you visited.

Reckon this test is just flirting with us. Kane notches up 124, Watling 68, Herath goes bang bang and Lakmal gets some tail freebies and then get to victory 3 or 4 down.

S'okay guys. This sort of situation is where Wagner comes into his own to take out the opposition's best batsman...

...Oh :(

Will be interesting if we can somehow bat to tea tomorrow. Lead would be around 300, wonder how much BMac will try to press for a win.

Great partnership atm...will not praise anyone too much to avoid jinxes.

This is a throw away line so don't take me to task for it - I feel we have an extra batting asset up our sleeve with Bracewell being in the lineup rather than Wagner. I hope that selection decision bears fruit should he be required to bat tomorrow.

I don't expect Southee and Boult to hang around long however.

If they got to that position, Baz won't give them a sniff. If he could set thema difficult 400, he would. Just like last year when he didn't want to give India a sniff.

Agree... but he's been freaking lucky to date. I think he'd have to rate as one of the luckiest cricketers around recently, tends to be dropped quite regularly, inside edges just missing the stumps, outside edges just dropping short.
Not going hard at the ball and using soft hands will see that happen a lot.

Darn, I knew I forgot to do something when I was over there last year! I've been meaning to buy a farm over there.

Yeah, I reckon the edges dropping short definitely comes from Kane's technique, more so than luck. Plays the ball late, under his eyes and with soft hands while defending, so if it does catch the edge it's never going to carry too far.
