I think 400-450 makes this match even again. I also think we've got the batsmen and form to do it. It really comes down to whether or not they gift easy wickets to the seamers and how well they face up to Herath.

I'd say 400-450 would have us ahead. 350 is probably about as close to "even" we could get.

I guess it all depends on what the result is!!!..if SL win then yes probably Sanga's knock holds more sway but Darren also batting a huge amount with the tail and managed to help guide a team from being 400 behind to over 120 ahead on the last day. Both were under pressure but imo had Sanga only scored a ton SL would still be in the game whereas Darren couldn't fail or it was certain defeat.

And guys don't think this is a "WI" thing!!..i'm comparing the two because they are the only two batsmen to dominate this great NZ attack in such a manner on their own turf.

when we see starc, marsh and twatto in an aussie team it's hard not to think we have the next west indies of the 80s, especially when we're used to having a west indies of the 00s.

This bowling attack had them 5 down for SFA. Sangakkara is a brilliant batsman, but he isn't going to score a double hundred in difficult conditions in every innings. We would by no means on top of the game at that point, but it'd be even.

5 down for SFA - then needed around 300 runs for the next 5 wickets due to the changing pitch condition and a lack of natural variation in the side.
