I'd honestly prefer Shah as although I rate Cook I think he needs another season of county cricket before he comes near the side again.

Also, I'd prefer Shah as he is a specialist middle order batsman, and I think better equipped to deal with spin at this stage than Cook.
I don't think the pitches will spin much at this time of the year so it won't be much of a problem.

I'd still wager that Murali will have an impact immaterial of the state of the pitch.
I dont know - I think Murali is somewhat on the decline these days and not the bowler he was a couple of years ago.

Moreover, early season England the pitches are unlikely to favour him, and the wreck the SL batting lineup is, is unlikely to give him sufficient runs to play with.

Has Jones finaaaaaaaaaaaally recovered??

Can't wait to see him back in action after the great Ashes series.
He's supposed to be playing for Glamorgan this week, but play was abandoned yesterday.

I somehow feel that Sri Lanka will play Sangakkara as a regular batsman and Prasanna Jayawardena as the specialist wicketkeeper...what say ?

I doubt that very much, as Sanga has done a very good job doing wicket keeping and coming in at 3, and there's no reason to think having Prasanna J as WK will make a significant difference.

Sanga is maligned WRT his keeping , but IMO he misses very few and is in fact up there with the best keepers in World cricket today. Why change when its going to infact weaken the batting.

Also playing him purely as a batsman will affect his confidance as a player and may cause a decline in his batting.
