I think he is safe. I don't think he has done enough wrong to even be close to losing his place. There is no real natural replacement and he still averages a 100 every 3 tests which is an incredible return (8 from 26) even if he does only average 35.5 in his last 10 tests.
That said, when Vaughan returns, someone has to drop out - Cook has surely done enough to suggest it won't be him, which makes Collingwood the primary target at the moment, but if he scores a few, then maybe Strauss is in danger?

Seems that the Ireland vs England ODI is going to be live on BBC 2, but only in Northern Ireland, hopefully that means we can get it on channel992 on Sky.
What about those of us who only have freeview?

England really can't afford to lose wickets to the support bowlers. They are two-down at stumps and Murali hasn't done anything yet.

who are the umpires?
The significance of this question cannot be under estimated from SL view point given the collapse triggered by Darrell Hair's shocker yesterday and SL continually suffering deliberately poor biased Umpiring from some Aussie Umpires namely Hair and Harper over and over again in the past several years .:@

Sri Lanks batting which should mean I get to see Murali bowling and KPP batting tomorrow, unless we roll them over again and KPP is out cheaply the neet.
Looks like your wish has come true !!:)

Whoa! lankans seemed to be on top of things a moment or two ago, but now have fallen away.. giving england the edge at the lunch break..
While there can be no excuse for the Lankan batting collapse, one has to credit Darrell Hair for giving out Sanga (when it was clear the ball went straight through with no deviation and no noise as those in the commentary box repeatedly pointed out - May be Darrell is worried Sanga might do better than Australia's own Adam perhaps and wants to use every possible opportunity to get rid of him , if he can !! ) and thus triggering the collapse.

IF SL get England all out under 350 , there's hope for SL.

But I Suspect they will need to get all English batsman caught, bowled, run out or stumped . ( * As they have no chance in hell of getting any LBW's from Darrell or for that matter Rudi * )

In other news, the sun has come out. Expect Vandort to continue making runs and building on his reputation as one of the world's leading batsmen. He doesn't have a Test average of 65 for nothing, you know.
If Vandort doesn't get much in the second innings , you are likely to win the Tony Greig award for a second week in a row. (whether you like it or not -even if it were said tongue in cheek to spook the guy)

You better hope he makes some runs next time around.

Not what I heard, they said it clipped his body just below the trouser pocket on TMS. I could see why it was given when I saw the highlights on TV.

Plus as they also pointed out on the highlights show Sanga had 2 very close shouts early on that could have gone either way.

well and Daryl missed that one of Panesar that looped up to Jones of the bat and glove.

Obviously the Sanga decision was crucial tho..

Jason, some how you manage to take away any sympathy people had for the Sanga decision by talking garbage. Its an amazing talent I must say.

Didn't he also miss a decision against Murali later in the game though? I bet Monty was dismayed.

Bad decisions happen. That's not the reason Sri Lanka has been outplayed by India in this series.

The West Indies were fairly comfortably beaten by Australia last year, but we received several very poor decisions, with way too many coming against the likes of Brian Lara. But that's part of the game, so there wasn't much avenue to complain.

Just sent a text to my Dad saying KP would be out within 5 overs, he did it within 5 balls.

Daft again after getting in.

It's clear that Pietersen is just one of those players who chokes when he's not under pressure. He's one of those who gets bored even by dominating and continually tries to keep the tempo on the rise. He's an entertainer - the good version of Dwayne Smith.

Mind, Dwayne Smith is a far better seamer.

I had a dream last night in which I was watching an England game, and KP was taking wickets bowling seamers. He also had his skunk hairdo again.
