I think he is safe. I don't think he has done enough wrong to even be close to losing his place. There is no real natural replacement and he still averages a 100 every 3 tests which is an incredible return (8 from 26) even if he does only average 35.5 in his last 10 tests.

That said, when Vaughan returns, someone has to drop out - Cook has surely done enough to suggest it won't be him, which makes Collingwood the primary target at the moment, but if he scores a few, then maybe Strauss is in danger?

Seems that the Ireland vs England ODI is going to be live on BBC 2, but only in Northern Ireland, hopefully that means we can get it on channel992 on Sky.

While there can be no excuse for the Lankan batting collapse, one has to credit Darrell Hair for giving out Sanga (when it was clear the ball went straight through with no deviation and no noise as those in the commentary box repeatedly pointed out - May be Darrell is worried Sanga might do better than Australia's own Adam perhaps and wants to use every possible opportunity to get rid of him , if he can !! ) and thus triggering the collapse.

In other news, the sun has come out. Expect Vandort to continue making runs and building on his reputation as one of the world's leading batsmen. He doesn't have a Test average of 65 for nothing, you know.

If Vandort doesn't get much in the second innings , you are likely to win the Tony Greig award for a second week in a row. (whether you like it or not -even if it were said tongue in cheek to spook the guy)

Not what I heard, they said it clipped his body just below the trouser pocket on TMS. I could see why it was given when I saw the highlights on TV.

Plus as they also pointed out on the highlights show Sanga had 2 very close shouts early on that could have gone either way.

Bad decisions happen. That's not the reason Sri Lanka has been outplayed by India in this series.

The West Indies were fairly comfortably beaten by Australia last year, but we received several very poor decisions, with way too many coming against the likes of Brian Lara. But that's part of the game, so there wasn't much avenue to complain.
