He doesn't come across as a leader and he also seems very quiet, so I would be surprised if he became captain but you never know.
I disagree, actually. He seems like a man of few words in some interviews, but his confidence is equally apparant. And if you see him generally on the field and with teammates, he's certainly not quiet. Would have gone with Bell or Swann, personally, bit obviously they see something in him - its not a hugely important role anyway.

I quite like Morgan's stoicism, actually. I've toyed with the idea of making Swann the T20 captain just for fun, though.

Anyway, Worcs are making a good go of this. Still a big partnership though.

As an aside, who is Jeevan Mendis and what can he he do? I see he's played a few ODIs.

it was in reply to Jake saying 'he could well be going for both the T20 and the one-day captaincy soon'. Being Vice captain is like you say not a hugely important role but Captain is.

Obviously there are exceptions, but the fact that Morgan is 24 and almost certainly our best limited-overs batsman shows that the possibility of taking on the captaincy was there - so long as the powers that be thought him capable. By making him vice captain they've shown that they'd be happy to have him lead in a pinch, so he moves well up the pecking order.

I agree with what your saying, it's just from what I've seen of him, he doesn't strike me as Captaincy material. Not that it seems to matter these days but I wonder if he's Captained at any level.

I never knew the director of world-famous hit motion pictures such as 'Titanic' and 'Avatar' was also a promising Zimbabwean batsman.

He's tailor made for ODI's IMO. Scores runs at a run a ball or more and bowls reasonably tidy legbreaks as well. Plus he's a good lad and played for the right school. Also happens to be a friend of mine so find yourself a pinch of salt if needed.

Regardless of whether you still rate Fernando as a bowler, his no-ball issues are enough to keep him out of the ODI side alone.

News: England will be okay because the Sri Lankans have felt the need to call up Farveez Maharoof, who is in fact pants.

Yorkshire are doing their best to service the England side not only through providing more players, but also deliberately making Sri Lankan overseas signings in the CC look good just at the right time.

When have Lancashire put forward a selfless service like that? Never, that’s when.
Stand by this ftr.
