Sounds like win/win for Sir Ian.Anyone heard of the story where Beefy was sent in to run Boycott out in New Zealand? Apparently Boycott hasn't spoken to him since!
Reminds me somewhat of this situation.
First in a field of one, IMHO. Although I may be overly dismissive of Bowden's claims.Doctrove a strong contender for worst Test umpire atm
I reckon that England would have beaten the Lankans, if not for Jimmy's injury and a lot of rain.Anyway, I was just mentioning that Lord's never seems to get a result any more without a catastrophic collapse.
Said the same mate, Jimmy would have had a field day out there, especially on that 2nd and 3rd day.I reckon that England would have beaten the Lankans, if not for Jimmy's injury and a lot of rain.
whatever happened to the most vaunted attack.. Too reliant on one bowler?I reckon that England would have beaten the Lankans, if not for Jimmy's injury and a lot of rain.
Given that they put in probably their worst performance in a year and it was still good enough to claw back a first-innings lead, and later pick up three top-order wickets in just over a session, we can't quite write them off. They'll have better days.whatever happened to the most vaunted attack.. Too reliant on one bowler?
Pitch is only as poor as the bowlers who bowl on them. Given the appalling standard of bowling that has been on display in this game, it really makes no sense to blame the pitch.Considering the pitch is on it's 5th day of use, it is still playing extremely well. This is a nailed on draw IMO.
No more Tests should be awarded to Lord's until they produce a pitch that represents a fair contest between bat and ball.
But there is more chance of the sun going supernova tomorrow than Lord's losing Test matches.
1 day of rain has stopped you from being 2-0 down.ahhhh just 24 overs of madness from still being in a tied away series against the best test side in the world.
We'll get a better idea after the eng v ind series, where has to face zaheer who is awesome against leftiesIs cook really this good or just in the form of his life cashing in on a weak attack?I'm going to be following this guy's career with some interest for nxt 2 yrs.
he's in insanely good form, nobody is good enough to average 100+ over a long stretch. Is cook really this good or just in the form of his life cashing in on a weak attack?I'm going to be following this guy's career with some interest for nxt 2 yrs.
