Injury to insult that is, Lakmal/Eranga/Pradeep is going to be so much fun.
I wouldn't be surprised if they didn't bother with the third specialist seamer and just batted Shanaka at eight given how he bowled in the first Test and the fact that Mathews exists.

Tour from hell so far, awful for the Lankans. Agree with Shanaka at 8, he looked useless with bat at Leeds but obviously shaped the ball nicely.

Can't get any worse than the 2012/13 tour of Aus at least, Johnson personally obliterating Sanga and the other Jayawardene in addition to Welegedara blowing his hammy all in the same match was just beyond belief.

Also featured Matthew Wade being thrown the ball in a Test match. Embarrassing really.

What is the weather like? Looking online it says overcast with showers. Is it going to be similar to last match?

Colder I would think, bad light might be more of an issue as well. Durham seems to struggle with that.

Moeen up to no.6 then? or Bairstow and Moeen going up one spot each? Anyway I think it's fair Woakes gets another go, he's getting to the point where he really needs to prove himself a bit, and it's important going forwards with Anderson's age.

They've only had permanent floodlights in since last year. So should be less of an issue than previously.

Cricinfo going on as if the pitch has been a green seaming minefield for the past decade. As I've said previously the pitch has been a lot easier to bat on this year. Expect it to be overcast throughout.

Yeah, Durham will turn on day 4/5 as well if it stays reasonably dry. Borthers Borthwick has even rolled his arm over a bit.

As we saw in the last game, the lights being on won't matter a jot to the umps.

Jesus, top of 14C today.............fmd you have to feel a little sympathy for the Lankans.

Batting first is a strange call here. It's cloudy, and the Lankans look lost against the the moving ball.
