***Official*** Sri Lanka in England and Ireland 2014

On the subject of Gurney, I could help noticing some of the kids practising during my son's game last night. The usual 12 year old 'commentary' had 'Gurney' running into bowl, which wasn't something I'd have predicted a few weeks ago.

Got to admit that Tredwell went way better than I expected the other night.

And obviously I'm very happy that Dernbach isn't in the side any more.

I still think that the bowling is a man light, but perhaps it's better to try and ensure runs on the board, and at least our lower middle order isn't relying on one batsman to provide the fireworks.

tbh I'm just happy to see some new faces doing well after the winter debacle. If nothing else, it distracts from the endless claims and counters wrt KP.
Ben Stokes will be back and I have a feeling will replace Bopara. 4th ODI: Australia v England at Perth, Jan 24, 2014 | Cricket Scorecard | ESPN Cricinfo

Damn, Lakmal gone for the rest of the ODIs, I'm looking forward to having a little look at Prasad today though, see if he's developed at all under Vaas, he did decently against the Lions at home recently

Well, must almost be last-chance salon for Carbs, I hope he does well, he is actually pretty exciting when he gets going.

pretty tough conditions for the Sri Lankans with good bowling, if we can get through to the 15 over mark without losing a wicket we'll have done very well.

Lol Thirimanne not ****ing around anymore! Nice hit

Don't anyone dare to get Thiramanne out, top innings for England this.
Nah tosh. Stopping the opening bowlers getting a wicket is still a valuable job (especially against England), and as we've just seen, we're still early enough that one shot has brought the run rate up to code.

That was a nice Testy dismissal.

Jimmy in England > Thirimanne, in a reassuring display of things that are true

RAVI!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

I didn't deign to answer the people that said said he should be dropped. I'll just wait for Bopara to smash the words down their mouth.

Tredders getting turn, bodes well for Sri Lanka. Solid start this though, need to get Dilshan as he looks really good.

If this was England 80-1 or so after 20 overs there'd be all sorts of moaning about the top order not being dynamic enough...
