Funny enough that was when people were saying the captaincy helped his batting.
Well I think he made a ton in his first 5 tests as skip, so it was a reasonable call.......at the time.

I'd be in favour of taking the captaincy off him now and let him work on his batting, but who else is there?? Do we need to do a South Africa and appoint a youngster out of left field?? Could only really be Root and I just can't see him working out like G Smith.

If Cook is still struggling at the end of this summer then something is going to have to give.

After Prasad's first over this has been an excellent morning of disciplined fast bowling I thought this attack was incapable of, the real test is to see whether the pressure can be applied throughout the day, then we'll really see what these guys are made of. If they respond well that creates a nice headache for the selectors when we start picking two seamers back home and Lakmal recovers.

Sounds about right on all counts. If we do reach that point, then it probably have to be Bell, who really should be able to handle it after 100+ tests. Prior may have been a decent call if he was sure of his place in the side, but I don't think he is.

Open together don't they. Must be...interesting to watch, on occassion. Although they've put on some massive stands in quick time recently so maybe that isn't fair.

Well played anyhow, must be a nerve-calmer.

He was doing a 3rd man piece on the trigger movements of overseas born vs English born players and noting in the process that Robson is unusual because, like an English player, his main trigger is back and across as opposed to forward, and he showed a few examples of overseas born players with a trigger movement forward. I don't remember who the first guy was but the second was KP and the third, prefaced with "the best of them all", was Trott.

I think it was pretty clear he meant 'best example'

Think you can put that down as a "surely I haven't missed a ball that straight" review

EDIT: Wait really
