Decent recovery from SL after being 4/30 odd, but what a downer for the UK cricketing public. After a long year and a half of a pandemic, their side plays a half arsed outfit vs the world test champions to welcome the fans back and accordingly get dicked. Then they have to put up with the worst touring nation in cricket history as their LO summer fare. Woeful. Even when SL was decent, they were just a walk over on tour, but this side plumbs new depths o abject mediocrity.

Good thing for the Poms they're still in the Euros so they have something to entertain them.

Honestly think this core group that I talked about earlier can take SL higher in the tables across formats as long as they have folks with good attitude around them, even if not quite as talented.

They just need to be adequately compensated and the attitudes will change.

Pretty sure Adrian Shankar's contract was worth more than what some of these guys are making.

I am getting really worried about KJP's captaincy. First ODI, he did not bring Jayawickrama early when the pressure was on England to see how he fares. Didn't bowled Mendis at all, and dropped for the next. Then doesn't bowl DDS early (who can bowl in powerplays) and forgets to toss the ball to Charith Asalanka. Dasun Shanaka didn't bowl at all.

Selections are in issue too. SL had five seamers but that is way too much. Mendis would have been much better choice. Plus we could have ended up with 270 if Mendis played instead of Asitha Fernando.

I think this just another series to boost England confidence you can see on there faces when they take wicket they are so happy.

I’m the wrong person to ask. I know in T20I cricket if one hour of play is lost, no overs are chopped off.

I would only deduce that since this is an ODI the overs will start to be deducted much more earlier than an hour of play lost.
