Both tbh. Playing a slogging hard-handed square cut when your team has three sessions to bat out is poor spirit. Playing it badly is poor technique.

I guess Mahela's plan was to give his team as much batting practice as possible while making sure that there was enough time to grind Bangladesh out if they put in a decent batting performance. Looks to me as though he found a reasonable balance, then Mendis and Dilshan put in decent performances with the ball to end the match early.

EDIT - No.

Sri Lanka beat Pakistan at Sialkot in 1995, where Murali went wicketless for 17 overs!!

What is amazing is that there have been only 4 instances in his whole career where he has bowled in the 4th innings and gone wicketless!!

the way Murali bowled he didnt deserve any wickets, he looked like a man with other things on his mind. Sakib and Rahim played him very well. When you see Dilshan doing so well and Murali didnt it has to be the mind and age.
