Chances of results looking unlikely in 3 days?

Bonus points could be what decides things. More likely in the Warriors and Cobras favour with the slight lead they've got.

Get ready for day 2s to be washed out as well.

All about both games in the Western Cape really.

The test match and Boland v Northers in Paarl.

Cobras v Lions has got started
Titans v Knights may start of Lunch

Starting to find out about some of the younger batsmen not quite getting franchise opportunities who have come through SA u19 and SA Academy. This season hasn't seen Leus du Plooy and Marques Ackerman kick on. They got the talent but how much talent (sure they should be getting more franchise opportunities) but I am looking for potential top end test players and I think CSA put them in a high category after their winter stints at the academy.

My feelings on du Plooy are that his hand-eye has to keep being sensational. He was ignored for SA Schools and SA u19s as he didn't perform then even with the reputation. My feelings are limited overs cricket may be his best option to play for SA.

Marques Ackerman is an aggressive batsmen with all the strokes. My concern was being able to adapt and slower pitches. So since his move to KZN (where the Dolphins obviously brought him down to potentially contract him) he hasn't quite kicked it off on the coast. Made 1 or 2 big scores and lots of failures (was he willing to work for the runs?) and today out for a quick and breezy 41 off 44 when he had time to bat and say to the Dolphins I am here for next season. On his tour to Sri Lanka this season with Pukke Uni he didn't score runs either whilst Janneman Malan did.

Feel for the other competitors...

Nice recovery from Hamza and van Zyl. Hamza needs another score of note to nail down a first season of saying I'm here SA selectors.

Meanwhile in Paarl I am really liking the way Bedingham is knocking the door down.

We need to find gifted stroke-makers for 3&4 batting spots particularly.

What is nice to see is he seems to have improved throughout the season, get more and more runs. Needs a few big innings, like you say, and he becomes a contender. Hopefully he starts with a bang next season. Any chance of him having a county stint?

And Bedingham seriously deserves a shot at the franchise level... he could not be doing more.

Will need some international caps first for a county stint.

But he will probably have a vital SA A tour to India. I really want to see how he copes with spin.

The progression is everything you look for. Take last season when Jason Smith was preferred to him and how differently they've carried it forward.

He's been with the SA Academy, been to England to play as a club pro in 2 winters. Ticking things off nicely.

Not many batting bonus points for the Cobras.
217 all out

Lizaad Williams removing both Lions openers quickly

Bahseph

International Debutant
Come on guys, Durban is amazing! Hahaha. I'm pretty much going to have to move from here soon. More work opportunities further up country for a budding Instrumentation tech guy. But I can say that I wouldn't be upset if SA didn't play Tests here for a while. Tired of getting flogged at Kingsmead.

GRAB

First Class Debutant
Gihahn Cloete having a very strong second half to the season. Enough to find himself back in the A side? He's someone who really has underachieved. That's the main reason he moved to the Warriors, I guess..

Getting a hundred against the England Lions showed on a good day how good he can be. That was like 3/4 years ago now.

I reckon he needs to back up this 2nd half of the season with a good one next but you never know with the lack of opening options. Pieter Malan will definitely be one but the other is open (Moore, Cloete, Erwee, R.Hendricks, Agathangelou probably all in the running with CSA probably looking past Cook/Kuhn)

Klaasen smashed a quick 84 off 56 with Kuhn getting 86 off 82 to set the Titans up with a lead of a 100 and having a crack at the Knights. Right now they look more likely to win than the Warriors, Cobras and Knights who they playing.

Also noticed Andile Phehlukwayo is carded to bat 5 ahead of Vilas and Savage for the Dolphins.

And Morris starts with a double-wicket-maiden on was on a hattrick.

Titans big favourites.
