Interesting reading that Prince changed Malans setup before the season started, Malan attributes lots of his success this year to those changes.... good quality coaches and ex players of experience are worth their weight in gold.

Actual coaching is more important at this level than at international level. It's more about bouncing ideas internationally really and getting mentally confident and intune.

We will still have 3 ex-Proteas coaching domestically next season in Boucher, Prince and Boje.

Grant Morgan didn't play internationally but has been rated for some time through SA u19s, Gauteng and KZN cricket and doing a fair job at the Dolphins.

Rivash Gobind is new and he seemed to get the Warriors playing to high levels which is a good early sign. In many articles I read he seemed to want to back new talent and the Warriors did that with Breetzke , Sipamla and Qeshile under him who were all teenagers. Due to 5 'white players' he also made the tough choice in picking Nortje over Birch.

Things don't look good at the Lions. Toyana and Parsons are set to leave will be interesting who gets that job.

CSA ANNOUNCES DETAILS FOR SENIOR PROVINCIAL FINALS

CRICKET SOUTH AFRICA (CSA) has announced the match details for the finals of the Sunfoil Cup Provincial and CSA Provincial One-day Competitions.

The Provincial One-Day Final will be played at the Bidvest Wanderers Stadium on April 8 between Gauteng and North West and the Sunfoil Cup Provincial Final will be played as a four-day match from April 12 to 15 at Sahara Stadium Kingsmead between KwaZulu-Natal and Namibia.

“Congratulates to those affiliates that have qualified for the respective finals as well as Namibia,” commented CSA General Manager: Cricket, Corrie van Zyl. “These fixtures bring down the curtain on our senior provincial season and it has been heartening to see the level of performance. Pride of place must go to Marco Marais’ world fastest treble century for Border while Janneman Malan has made more than 1 000 first-class runs for North West and Clayton August (Easterns) and Graham Hume (KZN Inland) both topped the 40-wicket mark.”

Not sure the metrics, but SWD's Facebook page appeared on my feed yesterday. Mentioned their A club final being won by Obus Pienaar's side and their 2nd division promotion being won by Mark Vermeulen (the ex-Zimbabwe batsman/nutcase). Surprising Pienaar can't get any franchise game time, although with SWD under Cobras, there's more competition. Also surprising Vermeulen isn't at least turning out for SWD, given how weak their side is (the best SWD-area players produced of late are playing for Knights and Warriors now...).

Was in Ireland and New Zealand. Sure he tried to qualify for NZL but he couldn't go through with it. It is a surprise he went to SWD but for the reasons you mentioned I don't think he has a professional future in SA.

Gauteng v North West in 1-day final will be interesting especially as from same franchise. Although contracts are already done.
I expect the franchise players like maybe Cook, Mulder, D.Hendricks, Ramela, Mosehle to come down and join Rickelton and Burger for Gauteng. Possibly Dwaine Pretorius to join Janneman Malan and others for North West.

Yeah, that is who I was talking about above.

Came back last winter it looks like. Obviously felt it wasn't for him. New Zealand is riddled with SA cricketers at the moment. It was more than I expected. The only team that doesn't have is Northern Districts otherwise there is young and old at the others.
