No credit for Sarwan so far, disappionting. I'm glad that he has starting to live up his talents over the last couple of years as I have always rated him, even when he couldn't buy a run in Australia 00-01.

Bye-bye Mr. Sarwan. I suspect Lara is going to be quite impatient here - expecting to see plenty of fireworks.

On second thoughts, he might be a little shy at first, seeing as it is his birthday today. :p

They wouldn't have been given anywhere near 15 overs an hour if going at the rate!
Even at most pessimistc South Africa could hope for 700 and it would have been a much better approach than declaring at 588 and not keeping an all out attacking field which could have resulted in some of the edges being taken, a bit of pressure.

If not 15 then 12 overs atleast ofcourse. Windies have to bowl close to the mandatory 15 overs per hour any way and one would imagine it would be close to 15 if not 15. Smith got it wrong.

Kallis isnt rated as an all rounder any more, specifically by Marc.

In perspective of the way he has bowled in this test match (even though he hasnt had success with th wickets) how would you rate Kallis' performance as a bowler in this match and think about how his prospects are as an all rounder for the future.

I for one have been very impressed with the OLD Kallis bowling the way he used to.

Interesting match.........

Actually, it's NOT.
Indeed. You do wonder what on earth is the point of producing wickets like this. And it's not as if Antigua doesn't have a bit of previous when it comes to this sort of thing.

Dilemma:

Assuming Gayle continues to score runs at about 4 every over he faces (2 for the sake of argument), he's gonna end up on roughly 377* by the end of the day, as long as he doesn't get out. No team can win - that much is obvious. Is Lara so selfish as to declare overnight in order to avoid Gayle taking his record?

Lara isn't captain so it's not down to him to declare, also Gayle has slowed down dramatically after he reached 150 at a run a ball.

Oooooh.

Boje just had Gayle absolutely plumb attempting a reverse sweep. Hit his back leg in front of off-and-middle, going on to hit middle.

Think Taufel fancies being part of history. Only 5 West Indian score ahead of him now, by 4 players. Sir Viv's 291 next.

Someone who's done remarkably well to curb his natural instincts and smash everything around the park......

Prediction - he won't get close.
