Decent start by SAF openers so far...Benn is turning the ball really well here!

It wont be easy for Windies to play Harro in 4th innings...

Windies pace attack looks toothless, they need the spinners to work quickly or they will be well behind in the game today.

Well i said we'd put up a fight in the Tests and my word we've made a GREAT START!!, Shilly looks brilliant and Benn should have had two wickets already but him getting Amla is vital, i said spin would be a big factor and it's come off nicely thus far!!, we get Kallis early and they will be in huge trouble.

Peiterson GONE!!.. SHILLY STRIKES AGAIN!!!, what a spell this is from the lads :notworthy .
Justice has been done....

There's no way Taufel should've turned down that UDRS appeal when Benn was bowling. What's the point of using the technology if you have no intention of arriving at the correct decision?

Great day for Windies. Really pleased they decided to go for two 'frontline' spinning options though Roach injured is a massive blow.

Have to say though, WI batting line up looks extremely fragile so they really need to apply some pressure and role through SA on day two.

What sort of speeds was Pascal getting? I had only 5 minutes to watch whilst I was getting ready for work.

Immense debut's for the West Indian bowlers. I went to bed at tea and felt Saffers would charge on for as long as they pleased. Happy with the score at stumps, very even.

ed: just saw that Amla came in at 3 and not at 6 like it was on the batting card. That confused me a bit.

Another question:

Did he bowl completely harmless? He only got 3 overs... His figures don't suggest he was leaking runs....

Are Taylor and/or Roach likely to be fit for the other tests?

Batting cards get mixed up sometimes. Anyway, Amla at 6 doesn't make sense to me. Of course he comes in at 3!

No idea TBH. W'll find out if they are soon enough though.

Decent opening day for WI, spinners certainly getting some assistance, and if they continue to bowl in the right areas should end with decent figures. First innings totals going to be crucial.

Thought Pietersen looked decent enough at the top, was comfortable driving, played most things under his eyes and was patient outside off stump, let the bowlers come to him, very much in the style of Neil McKenzie.

Kallis will indeed be a huge wicket at the start of day 2, weather permitting!!
