Well SL have insisted on playing 2 keepers in the same line-up, and that's hardly worked against them.
Are they really? Or would both of them make it into the team as specialist batsmen. As I've repeatedly said, if 2 of your 7 best batsmen are keepers then its fine however Boucher is not one of the top batsmen and SA ARE playing an extra keeper that is not needed therefore weakening the batting.

If you dont see it then I dont know how to explain it simpler.

Prasanna Jayawardene is anything but a specialist batsman.

Who is a better bat than Boucher though? Whats your alternative, I'd rather get rid of Hashim Amla

Zander de Bruyn, Pierre de Bruyn, Neil McKenzie, Morne van Wyk, Jean-Paul Duminy, Davey Jacobs, Andrew Puttick, Albie Morkel…

I wouldn't go that far :) but I agree that there are a number of alternatives. You could even drop Boucher in order to keep Hall who would give you similar batting and extra bowling.

Geraint Jones has played 30 tests and is criticised for not having produced with the bat as he is supposed to. He averages 26 with the bat.

However, that is still higher than what Boucher has averaged in his last 30 tests and SA have a guy who can take his job behind the stumps already in the team. Makes no sense.

Also Rich, in answer to what you said, I think if given the opportunities Amla will have a pretty good Test career. He looks funny and has faults but they do not detract that much from his game and he is conditioned to work with them.

Because Boucher is actually a good keeper rather than a batsman who can keep?
