I think it's a pretty good wicket so far, something for fast bowlers but only if they really hit the deck, and a little something for the spinners, but still plenty flat for batting. Without considering the relative merits of both sides' bowling and batting, and the fact SA do have two fast bowlers who are very good at hitting the deck hard, I'd have thought this was more a 350-400 first innings pitch.Bez: "What do you think is a par first innings score here, Shashank? I feel SA won't be satisfied with anything under 350." This is more than competitive, I'd say.
Looking really good and taking 2/85 is pretty much classic Jeets tbh.Patel deserved that. His bowling's been far better than 1-85 would suggest.
Yeah but we're all set for him to take 5/45 in the second innings nowLooking really good and taking 2/85 is pretty much classic Jeets tbh.
Yup, still a 40+ average Test spinner.Looking really good and taking 2/85 is pretty much classic Jeets tbh.
Agree, I think I said last night, if things go really well and we get de Kock, we could have them 250/6 and around 300 all out. Not far off our best possible scenario from the start this morning.Couldn't have hoped for much better than that this morning. Great bowling by all of Wagner, Boult and Jeets.
23.2.Yeah, the real game starts now. How much movement can Philander get in these conditions?
I doubt he'll get much. It is a good batting deck now.Yeah, the real game starts now. How much movement can Philander get in these conditions?
What is this Playing the Game in the Right Spirit thing. If this was India vs Australia he would follow the shot up with a taunt questioning Cook's masculinity instead of apologising.Duminy to Williamson, FOUR, half-tracker on middle and it gets the treatment it deserved. Pulled so hard that it brushed Cook's fingers at short leg and deflected to the boundary. Cook was trying to take evasive action. He seems to be in a lot of pain. Williamson apologises.
