I fear the world is about to fall off its axis given Doull is being proven right here.Doull says it's a terrible day to be bowling and he is very surprised we are bowling first.
Great stuff - kept attacking even after being hit for a few boundariesBoulty!
9.1Boult to Petersen, OUT, Petersen gets behind the line and defends on the leg side, Boult runs to his right and fields
Ahh cricinfo, whatever the match the quality of the text commentary remains the same.
Whilst I don't wish to defend that Toull (I love that name - may I borrow it?), most commentators have that default setting. As I am able to be open minded, I reckon he thought it pitched outside given the angle/no swing.Got 'em!
Obviously Toull is on auto-"he's hit that" mode when the umpire doesn't give one that's pretty close.
Happened to me once. Hurt like hell.Thems got there balls messed up.
Yes you can borrow it.Whilst I don't wish to defend that Toull (I love that name - may I borrow it?), most commentators have that default setting. As I am able to be open minded, I reckon he thought it pitched outside given the angle/no swing.
They have 20-20 hindsight.God our commentators whinge and whinge.
Couldn't possibly agree more. And as the commentators are literally right behind the arm as that was delivered, they should be able to do better.Yes you can borrow it.
I agree, but it erks me how they say "he's hit that" like it's definite. I'd rather they actually went through some of the reasons why it could have been not out instead of trying to guess it and look good if right. "He may have either hit that or it may have pitched outside of leg" would be a much better auto-response to such an appeal.
But I suppose you can't ask for too much when it comes to Toully.
