Guys who are generally considered in the past years as "Bowled so well, but unlucky to not get more wickets" such as Gillespie, Flintoff, Ishant and Morne are all slightly similar type of bowlers (hit the wicket kind of bowlers). Is that something to do with their type of bowling?
They bowl too short.

Ben Stokes now, age 26: 2003 runs at 33.38, 83 wickets at 34.37

Andrew Flintoff age 26: 2012 runs at 32.98, 87 wickets at 37.4

One reason I find this notable is that Flintoff had a poor start in test cricket and a year ago or so people were pointing out how favorable Stokes' figures were compared to Flintoff at the same age. We are getting well into peak era Fred here (2004 summer is included) so good to see Stokes still holding his own.

TMS making the point that Cook's conversion rate used to be almost 50% (25 out of 54), since then has converted 5 out of 31 50s into a ton.

I`m a little surprised about the negativity regarding Cook. Considering the conditions, it was very good 88 and he has held this Eng innings together up till now.
