Nice one England. Have had today's play on the tv in the background so haven't watched every minute. But a win here hasn't happened since 1960..so some achievement :)

Mo on the honours board, what a day.

Proved me wrong with the ball, so fair play to him. Though I don't think many people who watched the India series would have expected him to get a 10-fer at Lord's in his next Test.

I bet they'll stick with Dawson.

Dawson's first spell was pretty awful but after that I though he was ok. Beat the outside edge a lot today.

Obviously Faf is a decent player and an upgrade but not sure why he is being made out to be Jesus. Averages 44, 6 test tons is hardly a world class performer coming in.

Not a surprising result, and England were brilliant but that was gutless from SA.

So much about our cricket needs to change. The selection policy and the mindset in particular. Bowling was okay and the catching was terrible. JP surely has to go, he is a meme at this stage. But i feel for De Bruyn,he is probably out for the next game. Quinton needs to be at at least five. He is our best batsman in this lineup and I know he keeps wicket, but we need him to have as much time as possible.

I'm sure my fellow SA fans will back me up here, but Faf has actually improved since he realised he isn't on the AB/Amla level. He has a stomach for a fight and that's what we need in this line up.

Yep, one or two countries have many a time stretched to the limit the phrase 'Its not just about stats'. So maybe its our turn.

Interesting to read the doom and gloom from Saffie fans, in the end if you had just taken your chances in the first innings, you could have had a decent first innings lead, may not even have needed to bat much last.

Fine margins and all that.

We are almost certainly going to have two liabilities in Ballance and Dawson in the next match because of our win, doubt the Edgbaston pitch will be that conducive to spin, so Dawsons buffet bowling will be pointless.

Was mentioned by Bayliss in his interview that our fielding was pretty flawless, something we've been lacking in for awhile, has cost us many matches, yet he was quick to say it's just one match and we need to carry on working on it.

Oh and I've become a lot less doubting of Bairstows 'keeping, it's a lot better, yet I hate him as it almost certainly means we'll never get Stokes-Foakes-woakes. Even though we're still him getting injured from it happening, so let's just hope for a slight strain.

This is either an epic next-level parody or one of the sillier posts made on this website recently. Kudos.
Indeed, but I do like the Trumpesque exclamation marks at the end of his posts. Basically persuaded me when I was in two minds about his pov.

Please, Ballance and Dawson for Stoneman and Northeast. Rocky at 3 and Northeast at 5 looks about right.

They haven't have they? Oh bollocks. I'd actually take Dawson before Ballance.
Really? Ballance was admittedly not brilliant, but certainly not awful either. I'd also be loath to drop him one match into his recall on principle. Dawson was basically outclassed by Moeen all-round, so would be under more threat for me.

Also, why do you want Northeast in? Stoneman I'd be more than fine with based on his recent form (and he did well in the Lions test), but Northeast hasn't really done anything much in FC matches recently (admittedly a good match against Durham, but that's just minnow bashing ;))

Agreed, and after he got a fair amount of stick from a lot of people (me included) his scratchy knock showed he is gritty and he got more than many on that track in the 2nd dig.

He wants Northeast in as he thinks he is from there.:D

Seriously though, Kent players get hyped up all the time and very rarely are they any good.

He'd walk into your side. Ours too.
