Yay 200

Anyway, do we want to be thinking about an Australia style blooding of some new players? I mean, Jennings hasn't really looked up to it after his promising debut knock, Ballance is on shaky ground (though again his performance looks better then it may have due to the awfulness of some others), Dawson and Wood will probably go, not to mention Jimmy is indisputably on the way out ()

Stokes hasn't done anything special for a little while either, granted he's got much more credit in the bank than those others.

I know the fact that a wholesale change of personnel worked well for Australia by no means means that it'll meet with any success if we try it, but is it something to think about?
"Wholesale" is overselling the magnitude of the change after the Hobart Test. Certainly the reset button on the team's general attitude was changed, but the core of the side remained exactly the same.

Oh yeah, for some reason I thought there were 5 debuts in the next test, but it was 3 (I think I'd added in the 2 debuts from the Hobart test itself).

Basically a similar change of type and magnitude to that of Australia is worth trying, I feel

guess they gonna drop Dwayne "The Rock" Olivier next match for Rabada although Rabada's been bowlin pure crap last 2 series
Disappointing in NZ but averaged 17 against SL. I think your memory's playing tricks on you mate, for whatever reason.

We REALLY miss Woakes he was so so good in the home Tests last year with bat and ball, when is he back?

Trying to thrash Broad and Anderson through cover point in the third over of the innings at an overcast Trent Bridge has to rank pretty high amongst the most ill-advised things you can do in Test cricket. Need to pull their heads in quick, these two.

Was netbowling last I heard but I think they'd want him to have some cricket before he gets back. Given the blast is on not much of a chance of that.

Ya if SA were playing at home against SL who are basically now worse than Zimbabwe, Rabada could be useful but not against the big boys.

That was dire very much old school 90s stuff (when we were really bad) performance from England, players getting in then giving it away, when we did dig in then relax against lesser bowlers. High percentage of the wickets down to bad shots. Yet ya know, I did say Ballance and Dawson were passengers, and Saffies shouldn't be too worried. Think they'll both go unless they do something incredible this match, and probably Wood too who has wasted these conditions.

I'd keep Jennings as he was seen off in the first match, and got a ripper in this one. Rashid, Roland-Jones and another for me, no idea whom though, as not certain which is why I guess we keep going back to Gary.

Of course all depending on what happens in the rest of the match, yet I say it now, because I think we've lost the match now, and if the players I think should be dropped perform okay in a futile cause after helping that cause become futile, they really shouldn't get much credit.

You can just see a pointless 50 or a few wickets against a team going for runs getting someone retained.

Stoneman in. Jennings to 3 ala the Lions.

I'd also bring Foakes in for Dawson.

Mark Wood is crap, him and Dawson out for Woakes and Rashid/TRJ. We probably also need to change at least one of Jennings and Ballance, but for who I really dont know as all the lads mentioned I dont think will do well either.

Foakes would a ridiculous selection.

Would just go with what Grecian has suggested. Woakes obviously comes back in as soon as he is fit.
