~2% chance of no rain for all 5 days (including non playing hours).

You should see some swing with all that cloud cover tho.

To be fair he is next in line as Morgan isn't up to it. This is our future I suppose with Cook, Taylor and Bairstow in the top 6, just wait for Root now.

Given Jonny Bairstow's obvious flaws against the short ball I'm not sure putting him in against the SA bowling attack is the greatest idea in the world.

Clearly KP had been dropped which is what rushed him into the climbdown on youtube. I guess it was too little too late though.
I don't think his Test career is over. Just the England selectors reminding him who's boss. The text thing going public probably did it more than the fuss over the other things.

If they don't win this then they should never complain about being tagged underachievers ever again. It's all there on a plate for them.
Too right, might help the England team though if there was a great divide in the camp. Remember we were supposed to fold and be awful after Flintoff retired and became number 1, never know what may happen now?

Like how you used the word underachievers rather than chokers here. ;)

Reckon both would be appropriate, save some miraculous match-winning bowling performance from someone. Can't see it though.

I didn't have too much criticism about how the ECB had handled all this other than the possibility of leaks (which I thought was a bit of a side-show in itself) up until now, but here they've had the perfect opportunity to put it all behind them and decided to flex their muscles instead. When it was about Pietersen's availability for different matches they had the moral high ground and something to actually achieve by digging their claws in, but this is just dire and accomplishes absolutely nothing.
