**Official** South Africa in England 2012

He's bowled at around this pace (or just above) all summer, it's gotta be deliberate.

Haha, cheer at beating the bat
Dropped a bit today, he's mostly around that 81/85mph but he's dropped into the high 70's now.

From what I've read it's what Saker's had them all doing since he became bowling Coach, drop the speed and concentrate on accuracy and tbf apart from this innings it's worked a treat.

I haven't been watching this weekend as the missus is off work, but apart from the period where the storm clouds were over on Friday am i right in thinking this is about the roadiest of roady roads that there has ever been? England effectively lost 2/260 in the sun.

With the weather seemingly set fair aren't they going to want to be getting on with the declaration sometime around tea?

It's gotta be absolute hell being a bowler at this stage...must have such a sense of futility running in time and time again.

Nah, he's been at this pace all summer. Was notably quicker last summer. And there we go, 139kmh. Just to prove he still can.

i can only assume they want to demoralise england as much as possible before they have to bowl at cook and trott for a day again.

Unless the pitch crumbles alarmingly questions are surely going to be asked about the pitch?

That said the weather has been absolute hell up until the very start of the match.

Apart from day 2 where the ball swung a fair bit and seamed, it's been straight up and down new & old ball, which is very unusual even for the Oval. The big thing though which isn't down to the pitch is there's been no swing from any of the balls, except for at the start of the SA innings before the rain came.
