Considering Watson can't bowl, he shouldn't be in the side ahead of the likes of David Hussey or Andrew Symonds.

I'd be more than happy with Watson used as an opener ahead of Marsh though.
Im not convinced marsh is an opener. He has seemed to have lost his flare that he had when batting in the middle order. He's a great batter but i just cant see him being a successful opener. Although that is pretty much the only available spot for him to slot into the australian team. Watson can open the batting pretty well so maybe thats the best option at the moment.

Vic Orthodox do you remember playing against Wayne Parnell? He must have been just turned 16 when you faced up against him at the U19 World Cup. I vaguely remember South Africa were manshamed in that game, think David Warner got some runs as well.

Yeh, from memory Parnell got a few runs batting at about 7, I bowled to him for a bit. Don't remember much of their bowling attack; besides Alexander who bowled quick and a couple of pretty ordinary spinners. Warner got 50-odd and Tom Cooper got 100.

As I said, Watson in for Marsh is the only thing I may agree with.

But I think a move to the top of the order is on the cards for Michael Clarke in both shortened forms of the game.

Suspect (s)he meant Afrikaners as opposed to Anglo-Afrcians.

I did, it was the most Dutch names/players I've seen for a while. Given that the Netherlands are minnows, I was in a jocular manner suggesting that these guys had let them down. Vaughn Van Jaarsveld looked all right. Do SA folk expect him to be better in the longer or shorter forms of the game? - he looked to have a fine technique.

South Africa finally win a toss and will bat first. AB is out so Neil Mac comes in, he couldn't get the ball of the square during the test series so good luck for tonight.

Australia are unchanged, so no 'home' debut for Ryan Harris.

His rep is solely built around his performances in the shorter form of the game. But I too thought he looked half decent on Sunday. :)

Of course, almost forgot about that nasty blow AB copped to the midriff on Sunday. Do you know if it was just bad bruising or whether it was worse than that ?

Yes, and I'm sure that SA would prefer he prospers in tests. Is cute too. SA has a better looking team, as trivial a matter as that is.

AB is a huge loss for the Proteas with the bat and in the field - even with the sheer energy and enthusiasm he brings to the team.

His worked hard. He was the size of Jesse Ryder about a year ago.

Haven't heard anything other than bad bruising.

Interesting that Shaun Tait tried to 'apology' to AB yesterday for him and his team-mates not asking if he was ok after he pinged on Sunday (instead they laughed at him) but AB according to Tait just got up from his seat and walked away from him.

It was reported that they didn't order scans for his hip only treating the bruising. It perhaps is a bit more serious than they're making out but if it was bone damage you imagine that would have surfaced by now.

Amazing really that this is only Tait's 11th T20 match domestic + international. He's really quite inexperienced in this form of the game, despite all the talk of him being a T20 specialist.

Does anyone know if when the players are on mic if they can hear the commentary all the time or just when the commentators tune into them?
