I think the players should be selecting the selectors at this point. Does anyone have the contact details of the selectors and/or their families? So pissed off at them they are definitely the worst in the world. What does it take for them to lose their jobs.
What changes should they make then? Is there any point in dropping Hayden, especially if he's told them that he's going to retire after Sydney? Should they drop any of the three bowlers they'll be keeping for Sydney? Hayden and Symonds are the only selections that are up for debate really, and with Watson injured the obvious replacement for the latter is gone.

I'd probably bring a specialist bat in for Symonds, but that's the only change really. The rest of the side has earned their spot.

Hey just wondered if Cricket Australia will release a commemerative DVD on this series?

Absolute Gold.. now we just need for Hayden to go, Ponting to lose the Ashes & the captaincy next year and then we can start backing the team again.

ANd by the way I don't think the level of cricket has been that high.. certainly not up there with the 05 series loss.. it was more like watching someone kick a dead dog.

Damn, losing Watto his huge, LOL dont tell me son got injured because of lack of game time.

Following this fellow McDonald in FC cricket over the years (given i have not seen him) he has never come across to me as potential test match player at all. Much more ODI style though.

I won't bother second guessing these selectors though. But i don't see the point in picking McDonald as the "all-rounder" for Sydney with the series gone. Just keep it simple, any revamping of the team balance be done for the SA tour no now..

God help these selectors..
Nah no way. McDonald is definitely a better Test prospect than ODI.

Apparently from what i have seen of MacDonald his batting and bowling (though his medium pace isn't any better than Symonds') are much better suited to the longer form of the game as compared to the shorter form of the game.

MacDonald has good domestic stats to back his selection, but as it has already been said Symonds would play at SCG, unless his injury is too serious, and even if he misses out then they would draft in either Hussey or Hodge in Symonds' place, so therefore won't read much into MacDonald' inclusion, he has just been rewarded for his good domestic performances by being picked in the squad.

Funny Channel 9 didn't even bother to mention the biggest loss in recent cricket history in it's news update..

Australians will now go into the blame game/ignore it mode that we all love to do here..

No-one will give SA any credit we'll just blame the selectors.. I'm surprised Ricky didn't blame the pitch again..

We need a 3-0 loss so some of these idiots can pull their heads in and try and regain some interntaional respect & dignity.

Could be the first Australian team to be clean swept at home in 87 years I just heard on the radio. No dead rubber in Sydney, world #1 up for grabs(according to the ICC table atleast).

What a great moment for South Africa. A well deserved series victory which rightly puts them into number 1 position. Smith has been a fantastic leader and a star has been born in Duminy. Steyn justified all the praise that was heaped upon him as well. They look like a fantastic fighting unit. A great day for test cricket.

Historic Moment, the Cricketing world has been waiting for. Well Played SA, this has been a clinical dismantling of the Aussie cricket team by the SAffies.

Well Played Australia though, 20 Years of Domination, 4 World Cup win, 5 Finals overall, Countless record breaking performance both as a team and by Individuals. Reaching at the top is tough, but staying there is even tougher. Aussie team stayed there for almost 20 years.. Wow One has to Rise and Applause !!!!

What great Champions they have been, IMO the greatest domination in any team sport ever.

GTFOH maynnnnnnn, Watto out for 6 months http://content-wi.cricinfo.com/ausvrsa2008_09/content/current/story/384691.html

I hope to god the selectors realize that with Watson out, that NO SPINNER MUST PLAY AND PICKING 4 SEAMERS I A MUST.
What are you talking about mate, Hauritz was as good as any of the three Aussie seamers, and as much as people don't rate Hauritz he has done quite decently in all the three tests he has played in, i think the real problem is that three seamers currently aren't doing the job consistently enough, and selectors should be working out who their best 3 quicks are rather than stuffing one more seamer in there.
