A) Jaques. No c. No c. No c. No c. No c. No c. No c. No c. No c. No c. No c. No c.
B) I believe Phil is still injured.
C) Marsh has had a crap season in both forms domestically.

And FFS somebody tell Michael Clarke that he is not in the nets, atleast take 1's to rotate the strike around, has completely got bogged down atm.

Ohh, I see. Cheers DCYE.

Generally speaking though, is there any apprehension from putting a specialist opener in that position if the player currently occupying that spot is barely being used as a bowler?

For me now Symonds would have to play some exceptional test cricket in the remaining summer, because at the rate he is going atm can't see him keeping Watto out of the side for too long.

Exhibit A: Michael Hussey.

There's probably a case for it but really, there's no need to do it when there's so many good middle order batsmen around the country. Any of North, D. Hussey, Hodge, Klinger, Watson etc etc could come in and likely do a much better job than a specialist opener.

In any case, if Jaques came back into the side he'd likely open and push Katich down the order. Marsh is a middle order player by trade anyway, and has only been opening in FC cricket this season as it's probably his best chance to grab a spot (though his form has been diabolical).

Ah, I see. Thanks for the explanation. Like many others, I'd also like to see Watson in squad in place of Symonds. Equally as intimidating, I find, if not more.

Edit: What's going on with James Hopes nowadays?

How old are ya mate?
Haha, it's a juvenile comment I know. I'm 20.

I agree with this and not to forget Watto' bowling is so much better than Symonds'.

Hopesy is a good honest hard working cricketer who always does his bit for the Bulls, but tbh he can never play test cricket for Australia as he is simply not good enough, though he should be an integral part of the Aussie ODI and T20 sides as he is a pretty handy all-rounder in both those forms of the game,

Haha nah... i was just asking, so what's up with you, you're an Aussie supporting the Saffies or a Saffie currently in Australia....

Melbourne-born Aussie, lived in Perth since I was 5, grew up with my older bro by 11 years who worshipped and modelled his bowling on Allan Donald, so that's where that influence is from.

What about you, man? Aussie living in India, yeah? What's it like over there?

Ahh, I see... so we both possess this unusual divergence from national sporting pride in common. Lmao!

Contrast in innings from both Haddin and Clarke has been exemplary, whereas Haddin has virtually dominated the bowling, Clarke has crawled painstakingly at snail' pace, but nonetheless i hope he overcomes his last over syndrome and lasts the day...

Haddin gawn. One more danger man gone.

Don't you love that heart in mouth feeling you get between the time the ball leaves the edge, up to the point where the fielder catches or drops it?

Thrilling.

Not really, when they nick it I immediately think oh no OUT.

I also think that wicket has completely screwed over Clarke, no more recognised batsmen to keep things moving, it'll be pretty easy for the Saffies to bog us down and kill us with the attrition.
