The match was won for Australia by Hussey alongwith MacGill and Macgrath at the fag end of that first innings. That broke the back of South Africa and must have been very demoralising.

Other way around for me.
I can see your arguement then.

If Watson had just done what Symonds did in the last match, I'd be in here parading around, silencing critics etc etc. And Im sure you'd be saying exactly what Ive been saying for the past day.

I think all that really proves is the fact that one test proves very little. It didnt change my mind, it wouldnt have changed yours, so it wont change the minds of the selectors.

Atm, Symonds is looking a better bet. Watson really didn't impress me at all, but Symonds has really impressed me with his bowling, and he batted OK the other day.

Long term, only one of the 2 has any chance of being a Test allrounder, but he's injured at the moment, so they should pick a proper batsman instead.

South Africa see Andrew Symonds as easier to keep out than other bowlers.

England will see him as a chance to score more runs off than other bowlers.

Symonds is deffinatelly good enough to play test cricket he just needed a good performance in one like what happened in his One day career, since he made that century in the world cup he hasnt looked back.

It would be great to have both of them in the side, but unless Hodge has a shocking run I can't see them both in the same team.
even the wonderboy Clarke would get a run. IMO the lineup we have now will be the same we have for the Ashes except Tait maybe included in the squad ahead of Bracken.

He's awesome, I loved the bit about stopping and playing cricket with the kids in SA. What a legend.

I hate this timezone, I sleep in until 9.30 and miss the entire first session :(
Nice legs though.
