I must remind all those "killjoys" that De Villiers, Kallis and Gibbs all scored massively off Lee from edges, so his figures don't really show how well he bowled, and they never really do.
Really? In the Ashes he was rubbish (with the ball) regardless of what other people say, just pace, zero movement and no brain. Only because England's batting has such a russian roulette element to it (4, 4, 4, give away wicket, 6, 4, 4 etc.) that he got as many wickets as he did. Against a team that bats properly Lee would have struggled to have averaged under 50 with the ball the way he bowled in that series.

Maybe not never, but a lot of the time a majority of those are lucky runs.
The same arguments could be used for Symonds' batting. Both Hussey and Hodge have been lucky with dropped catches early in their innings allowing them to make big scores, whereas Symonds hasn't had the luck of being dropped.

The simplicity of the situation is, is if you don't give an early chance you have less chance of getting out, just like if you were to bowl no bad balls you would have less chance of going for runs.

Agreed, but he has improved significantly of late (since The Ashes) to be fair to him. HYe said he would cut down his pace to become more accurate. I dismissed it, but to be fair to him he's succeeded.

top ball from Nel to get Hodge, he has really bowled some good one's in this match. But then again the bat seemed to hit the pad, ah well

No doubt in my mind Hodge hit his pad not the ball, only bad decision all match.

ok lead of 236 at lunch, something between 325 to 350 should be enough for Ponting to declare, hopefully the second session they will be some aggressive strokeplay.

Neither decisions were too bad really. Not like some of the stuff in the West Indies series.
What's the story with Ntini?
