Worst 94 ever? I've never seen Symonds bowl better than he has in this test. Now all he needs is some runs in the second innings.

Symonds has bowled a lot better than expected, but there is no way his bowling can be described as that of a genuine allrounder.

It probably is good enough for the "batting allrounder" role of which he was picked for, which I didnt really think it was, but that doesnt change the fact that hes been absolutely horrid with the bat.

The sooner Watson returns, the better.

I could just be having a rant here since I've only got Cricinfo, but how come MacGill has so many less overs than Warne?

and for the second time in 2 nights i fall to sleep on the bed in the afternoon session  , but it seems the aussies have done allright, surprised to see Symo with 3 looking at the score-card especially 2 bowls, what is the ball keeping low?

lead of 44 is good, need another solid but quick scoring batting performance as in perth & Australia will be safe. Hoping to see Jaques score some runs...

Injured ankle plus flu plus Warne always seems to come on long before MacGill

He was back on the ground without 10 minutes. I doubt that he'd be having much trouble with the ankle.

MacGill hasn`t bowled very well at all. But I`m sure the wicket of a tailender will ease the pain. :D

I really hope Jaques does well, he`s an awesome player. Good afternoon of cricket coming up I hope.

Ponting goes, Hodge comes out. Both Aussies out playing back to balls that haven`t bounced much at all. Play forward fellas.

yep i hope the rest of the batsmen realise that. That wont be too pleasing to SA, they will be batting last.

So what kind of lead should Australia be looking at? I have no idea of the state of the pitch, but I daresay anything over 300 should be difficult, with Warne and MacGill operating

Quite a bit of uneven bounce already. I think Ponting will give South Africa plenty of time again so we're probably looking at 320 or 330. That should be too much to chase successfully on this pitch.
