Never understood that line of judgement tbh.Not a terrible call by the umpire at all - no sympathy for any idiot who pads up to a ball pitching middle and leg. It might have missed leg by the thickness of a rizla, but Haddin made a huge error of judgement.
I think you'll get it right by Boxing Day.This is embarrassing from Australia. At least in 06/07 we managed to put together some decent batting scores
Bell's innings vital for the match but its gotta be RootMan of the Match? Swann, Root or Bell? I reckon Bell.
You have a bat, use it.Never understood that line of judgement tbh.
Indeed, its a really hard watch, galling for him if he doesn't do it, i don't think he will now even though Scott is trying to repeat last year, looks like Mickelson and you can't really begrudge him it.Come on Westwood. Having a granny putter choker like Scott win two majors in a single year would be just too much. And an American not winning is always a good thing.
If a clear edge does not show up on hot-stop then why at all use it, there have been numerous occasions in the past where due to a lack of a nick on hot-stop batsmen have been judged not out (even in cases when there was some sound), some umpires take that sound into consideration and some don't while making their decisions, hence there are no clear guidelines there, which makes decisions made through DRS as bad or good as the umpire making these initial decisions. For example if Hughes were to be given not out, then there is a very good chance Hill would have upheld the on-field umpire's decision. You clearly lack a basic understanding of conclusive proof. If the decision is out all the 3rd ump needs is any evidence to back it up for it to stand. Hill heard a clear edge so he UPHELD the original decision. Simple.
EXACTLY. Therefore the system works fine, its about eliminating howlers and that wasn't a howler. It was a marginal edge the umpire gave out. What about this aren't you getting? If a clear edge does not show up on hot-stop then why at all use it, there have been numerous occasions in the past where due to a lack of a nick on hot-stop batsmen have been judged not out (even in cases when there was some sound), some umpires take that sound into consideration and some don't while making their decisions, hence there are no clear guidelines there, which makes decisions made through DRS as bad or good as the umpire making these initial decisions. You do realise Marcuss is English, right?
Taller than Phil Hughes and he's done wel.......hmmm...James Taylor won't make it as a Test player because he's too small according to Boycott
