Ziiiing. Carn Colts, let's get it together before our next game. We're a real change at the four-day trophy here boys!
You're welcome to it.

Meanwhile the Reds will play for 5 days instead.

Magrat Garlick

Rather Mad Witch
Cricket Web Blue v Cricket Web Colts
at PDV Dome

Brendon Goff flogged the Colts' bowling for a 79-ball century at the PDV Dome, despite rainy and unfriendly conditions. None of the bowlers managed to exploit them particularly well, however, and only Beamer Smith had an economy rate less than 5. Liam Camps also chipped in with a half-century, while Sean Fuller bashed an unbeaten 48 at the end, and the total of 327 for 4 looked formidable.

Colts didn't exactly get the start wanted, when Eric Clancroft bowled two successive maiden overs to Shan Jasotharan, and Jasotharan eventually departed for an unusually quiet 23. It did include one hoiked six off Matt Smith snr; when he attempt to repeat the feat four balls later, he missed and was plumb lbw. Smith continued to dig out wickets, with four catches being taken off his bowling, but the much publicised battle of Smith v Smith was an anticlimax; Smith was bowled by Fuller on the first ball he faced. Colts aimed for surviving 50 overs after Smith's spell, which yielded five for 50, but couldn't even manage that, as Nath Patrick ended their innings by having Callum McKern caught for 7.

Cricket Web Blue 327/4 (50 ovs)
Cricket Web Colts 173 (42.1 ovs)
Cricket Web Blue won by 156 runs

Cricket Web Red v Cricket Web Black
at CW Oval

Cricket Web Red whimpered over at their own Oval, stunned by early wickets from Hoy and Pickup, good fielding, and a magnificent death over from Mike Wilson. Only Alex Feeney and Ian Markus passed 25, and after the Markus-Feeney partnership was broken, Reds fell from 99 for 3 to a total of 174. In reply, there really was no contest - Ash Chaulk and Alex Blackman played well crafted innings of 93 and 50 respectively, and the Reds were never anywhere near taking wickets.

Cricket Web Red 174 (42 ovs)
Cricket Web Black 175/2 (42.4 ovs)
Cricket Web Black won by eight wickets

Gotta hand it to Goff, CW Blue's Smith, Wilson and Chaulk for those two games. Really made the difference for Black & Blue.
