Another good all-round performance - can't help but think the declaration ought to have been sooner, though.

Pretty happy with my performance in the last game, but once again i should have gone on once i got that fifty. Being bowled around my legs is not the way you should be getting and is probably a sign of lack of concentration. Probably something i might improve when i get more experience under my belt. I probably should say too much, as people might start having a go at my so called 'rookie power'. I guess the hard work i did in the nets after i came back from Holland from club cricket and during the season doesn't mean much. I guess sooner or later the bowlers are going to find weakness in my batting so i better keep working on my technique.

I thought so too, BUT...

From Tactics Sheet, section 3, pertaining to declarations:

3) We don't do draws generally - but looking at setting final-day run chases
of 240 in 40, 300 in 55, 350 in 70.

ITC has a function where it says a certain number of overs are left in the day's play, but it really just works on time. Therefore, if spinners bowl a lot of overs, you could get well over 100 overs bowled in a day's play. When the final hour of the final day is reached, 15 overs are automatically into the equation.

All that amounts to Red possibly having to chase 300odd in 50odd-60 overs.

Once again, our batting let us down - myself in particular. Mamesh and Nayak were the only batsmen to make significant innings. Time for a long spell in the nets, boys. I know we're capable, we've shown the potential in a couple of games this season, now we really need to start putting our heads down and really playing for wins. The bowlers again did well, particularly our ever-reliable captain, but it's time for our batsmen to provide them with the support the games demand.

Well done lads, shame we could finish it off but a decent performance all round

Nice to get a bit of form back, happy with my second innings bowling and solid batting to get the team off to a decent start.

Let's ratchet up those second innings targets a bit, then. 200 (40), 250 (55), 300 (70). And no first innings declarations until we make 900-4 like I said!

I'm not happy at all with that performance Colts. I'm not expecting to win every game, but I at least want us to be competitive and consistent. After a good week against the Reds this is the worst way to come out of that with a dismal performance. While some players are exempt from this comment, we need to work as a team. Our batsman need to apply themselves and while our bowlers performed well, I know we could have done better. Hard work this week guys, we need to get back to some consistent performances!

we beat the so called god team(Red), that actally look like the losers, but we can't defeat Blue!
Excuse me, but who has called Reds gods?

Certainly not any of us.

For a start it doesn't help that a high-class member of the XI has a lower rating than 3 rookies...

A couple of things, what a game from me - 0/169 and 0(2) - somebody put me out, cause I'm on fire.

Secondly, 'Dizzy#4' - do us all a favour and not bother turning your computer on.
Firstly - don't be so hard on yourself, you're proven class and everyone has an off day.

Secondly - I don't know what you could mean, I personally love to read all about the Dizzy#4 XI (as Colts seem to have been renamed to)

Oh, so the Reds didn't have a bad day at the office against the Colts? It was all rookie power? Please Marc. Listen to what you are saying.

Marc, please do us all a favour and get over it.
So tell me how many rookie players come into real cricket as better batsmen than established Test players then?
