A dismal showing by Cricket Web Blue left fans booing at the PDV Dome, when just after a double hundred to Thamba Mamesh, they were shot out for 56 - record low. Mamesh had just flayed the Blue balls around in his 228-ball 202, largely with the support of Redlapalli, who registered 95 not out before his captain was bowled for a second ball duck.
The Reds amassed 414 all out and looked in top form because of it. Kennett removed Pete Young and Brendon Goff with the first two balls of the innings, and when Kennett pushed at an away-swinging ball from Watt soon after, the score was 3-3. Fuller was unfortunate to be run out for 1, but Camps Crampton and Currie contributed to their demise with a lack of footwork. Only Dinu DeSilva looked to have any fight in him, and he got to 28 before becoming the second run out victim of the innings.
CW Blue were devastated on their home ground and asked to follow on on just the second day of the game. And the struggle did not cease. Young was put down by Robbins at third slip - a shocker - but caught at first slip two balls later, wrapping up a pair for the Dev League's leading batsman. As Fuller edged to second slip for 7, the nightmare simply would not end for the Blues.
But Goff and Cloete elected to play positively and cruised past the first innings score. Reddlapalli dealt with both and it was left to DeSilva, Camps and Crampton to restore some pride to the innings. They did so admirably, though none carried on to a century. Crampton was the best of the lot. The wicketkeeper-batsman mixed attack with glorious strokeplay and was left unbeaten on 61 from 70 balls at the completion of the innings defeat.

Commentary
Determined batting by the Colts was as much the key as brilliant bowling by Greg Thomas in a hard-fought 5-wicket win over CW Green. Thomas took a match haul of 10 for 113, but it was the resolute batting of Daniel Towns and Shan Jasotharan that guided the Colts home to a target of 148.
The Greens were inserted on the first day under cloudy skies. And the move paid immediate dividends for Kyle Wright. He took the wickets of Malone, Dubb-Lynch and Garven in his opening spell, swinging the ball regularly and prolifically.
Half-centuries from Lezama, Dravid and Cunningham prevented a slide, however. The three were essential in the push to 260 all out, playing crucially against the bowling of Wright and Thomas, who shared 9 of the 10 wickets to fall.
In turn it was the batting of Pooja Bharat and Daniel Towns that held the Colts together. Scores of 53 and 52 respectively stood out among a top order of starts and failures. Stephen Burke played an enterprising hand of 36, but the man who mashalled the lower order was Nick Hancock. In scoring 31 not out, he played maturely and ensured the Colts would have a lead of 18 to work with in a tight contest.
Notable for CW Green was the bowling of Andy Cameron - 6 for 85 - and he certainly kept his team in the contest.
The second showing for the Greens did little more than display the fragility of their lower order, if not the immense potential of Nitin Dravid. While Darren Dubb-Lynch played a lovely 37 at the top of the order, the show was definitely stolen by Dravid. He hit 6 fours and 2 sixes in 73, which ultimately stood even taller in a total of 165 all out.
The Colts therefore needed 148 to win the game. Low target as it was, Andy Cameron quickly showed that it would still be an interesting chase. The wickets of Bharat and Gelman fell in quick succession - 21 for 2 - then Cunningham chipped in with the wickets of Malthus-Howell and Burke. At 90-4 it was anyone's game, and as Nayak perished for a duck, it was even more an open contest.
Jasotharan took guard at the tail-end of the worst season of his career. But rather than fiddle about awkwardly, as he has done so often this year, he played his natural game. And to good effect. Jasotharan faced 25 balls for his unbeaten 33, complementing Towns' 39 from 119 to great effect. The two carried the Colts home with an unbroken stand of 58.
