Apologies to Dasa about the keeping, but we needed some more non-bowlers to bowl. Plus I hear Smith's a gun keeper.
No problems there. I don't think I've ever had a bowl.

Will be looking to play a Ponting-like role at number three. And by that I don`t mean finding the gaps and massive pull-shots for 6, but rather falling over after a few deliveries for <5.

Crampton XI vs Weber XI
at the CW Oval

A breathtaking innings by Daniel Smith was not enough, as the Crampton XI lost to the Weber XI in the first game of the charity series. Smith launched 6 sixes and 4 fours in an unbeaten 80 from 63 balls, but it was not enough as Weber's men got home by 17 runs.

Donald set the game up nicely earlier, supplying his own unbeaten special. He scored 90 not out in a total of 278 for 7 - a dramatic recovery from 45-4. Sean Fuller was the key to the pace of the turnaround, however. His 75 came from 64 balls and included 11 fours, supplying adrenaline to a struggling batting performance.

When it came time for the Crampton XI to bat, the top order wobbled from a solid start, perishing to the sharp bowling of Ryan Dunn. At 101-6 and then 165-7, the Crampton XI looked truly out of the game, but Dravid and Smith soon turned that around. The two attacked the opposition bowling fiercely and a quickfire partnership of 67 for the 8th wicket. But Dunn returned to take two crucial wickets and effectively end the challenge.

Weber XI 278-7 (50 overs)
BC Donald 90*, SE Fuller 75, MW DeSilva 42; N Dravid 3-63

Crampton XI 261-9 (50 overs)
DP Smith 80*, N Dravid 45; RD Dunn 5-57

Weber XI won by 17 runs.
Man of the Match: BC Donald

Bennett XI vs Gray XI
at the Pickford Reserve

Marc Robbins rushed the end of a close contest, finishing with fantastic figures of 8 for 20 on a slow Pickford wicket. Robbins numbered Malone, Bennett, Young, Jasotharan and Cloete among his haul, and the Bennett XI collapsed from a strong 91-0 to 189 all out, chasing 248 for victory.

Earlier Dan Rai and Nick Hancock laid a solid foundation for a total of 247-9. Rai scored the only half-century of the match - 53 - and Hancock got to 46 opening the batting. The middle order struggled against Gaurav Nayak, but Robbins batted solidly at number 9 and was unbeaten on 21 at the end of the innings.

In reply, Roberts and Goughy got the Bennett XI off to an impressive start after 20 overs. But the entry of Robbins into the attack was the downfall of the innings. The score collapsed to 113-5 before Nayak and Gelman gave some hope of revival. Both then fell to Chris Butler's bowling and Robbins made short work of the tailend.

Gray XI 247-9 (50 overs)
DK Rai 53, NR Hancock 46, G Nayak 30; GN Nayak 4-50

Bennett XI 189 all out (44.2 overs)
GM Roberts 49, KJ Goughy 43; MJ Robbins 8-20

Gray XI won by 58 runs.
Man of the Match: MJ Robbins

Dauth XI vs Cameron XI
at the PDV Dome

It was a lopsided affair at the PDV Dome, with the Cameron XI cruising past the Dauth XI by 108 runs on a bouncy surface. The Dauth XI needed just 236 runs for victory, but lost Neil Pickup to the first ball of their innings and never recovered from the shock.

From 13-4, Wilson and Reddlapalli carried the score to 98, then both perished to Ritchie. The Dauth XI collapsed for 127 and Clapham finished with 4 cheap wickets.

Earlier Thomas stunned the crowd with a composed half-century in the middle order, but it was Matt Smith's 51 that stole the show. Breaking out his trademark lofted cover drive consistently, Smith struck 5 boundaries in his innings, and was certainly the highlight of the Cameron XI's 235-8.

Cameron XI 235-8 (50 overs)
MS Smith 51, GM Thomas 50, AA Cameron 35; MR Reddlapalli 4-30, JNE Former 3-28

Dauth XI 127 all out (31.4 overs)
MW Wilson 39, MR Reddlapalli 38; KR Clapham 4-10

Cameron XI won by 108 runs.
Man of the Match: MR Reddlapalli

Hahah, Qualitey innings Geggy. Keep on batting like that and you'll be batting 4 for the Colts soon enough (with our batting last season, entirely possible.)

Glad to see our lot pulled one out for Charity. Always seem to find the runs in the Charity games I do.
