Lots of money and not enjoying his job (AFL). Dangerous combination.
cocaine is so common place these days though, especially amongst young sportsmen. i'd even say there'd be more players in the reds team who have done it than have not

Anyone fancy predicting how many penalties England will concede this afternoon? At present rate it's going to be about 40.

I do like Lancaster, but sorting out the indiscipline in English rugby union must beyond anyone.

EDIT
That's three in the first seven minutes. Maybe 40 is overstating it we'll lose time once Ireland start running in the tries.
Anyway, already 6-0 to the side that actually understand the rules of the game. This will be fun, won't it.

Made the mistake of going to the Waratah's match on Saturday night

Lasted 50 minutes and that was being generous

Connolly answers SOS call from struggling Reds | Super Rugby News from SuperXV Rugby

So the Reds got slaughtered last night. I am not sure that coaching is the problem. They just don't seem to have the players.

I am going to throw a radical idea out there -

Dump Genia, and make him a scapegoat. The rest of the team will theoretically rally together and figure if he is not the team then all of them will have to pick up the slack.
my theory may sound up the boohai - but Team USA dropped their best player in the Miracle on Ice (the true story not the movie) and they won the goal medal through outworking everyone rather than outplaying everyone.
He did play well last night his delay in clearing the base notwithstanding. Good box kicks in particular. But the Reds have to do something. If this was the NHL you would trade him.

If the Rebels can win then so should the Reds.

Making Genia a scapegoat would be the worst possible thing the Reds could do. Proven performer and the key reason the Reds won the title in 2011. He's already off to Framce so I see why you say to drop him, but for what purpose? he may not be the glue holding this team together like he was in 2011 but he sure as **** isn't the cancer tearing it apart.

Also James Slipper for PM

Edit: not meaning to come across in a yelly tone hear btw, just think the notion of turning Genia into a scapegoat a bit off, be like making Carter/McCaw scapegoats for the crusaders precarious ladder position atm.

Genia has been the best halfback in the world pretty much since his debut. Even at his worst form he's easily the Wallabies' best player, let alone the freaking Reds.

Seeing him not get picked while hacks like Nathan Sharpe can rack up in excess of 100 tests is so weird.

Anyone else frustrated with the joke of a points system they use in the Super 15 with the conference system? Especially clear this year where a team that should finish in 7th position gets 3rd because of the silly at least one team from each country has to qualify for the play-offs.

The finishing positions and their points

1. Hurricanes 66
2. Waratahs 52
3. Stormers 45
4. Highlanders 53
5. Chiefs 48
6. Brumbies 47
7. Crusaders 46

How it would look if it actually went on points earned:

1. Hurricanes 66
2. Highlanders 53
3. Waratahs 52
4. Chiefs 48
5. Brumbies 47
6. Crusaders 46
7. Stormers 45

I'd struggle to imagine a worse scoring system anywhere in the world.

I like it. Stops the comp from being dominated by Kiwi teams which is better for world rugby.

Plus it's the saders who missed out and unless you are from CHCH you will not as a Kiwi be shedding tears that they missed out. Their team is just a winning machine so it is good to see them not make it from time to time given the pain they have caused me over the years. They also like to thieve players - so part of their dynasty is built on skullduggery.

JFC.

Look I agree that Aaron Smith is a big level above everyone else at the moment but there's no way in hell that Andy Ellis, Jimmy Cowan Brad Weber and Nic White are better than Genia.

White in particular has been absolute rubbish and will get destroyed with his dreadful tactics at the international level. Re: Genia's kicking game; did you see White play this weekend? random kicks everywhere. Dreadful.

also hurricane and hendrix, you two can argue till the cows come home about whether genia or white is the better 9, but reality is phipps will without doubt be the starting 9 for the wallabies

and ripper i thought your queensland boys were pretty lucky to have such a high representation in the train on squad
