Lol I thought it looked ok tbh, though that said, having read it about an hour ago, I now can't remember much about it, so I guess it can't have been that great.
Well, the thing that gets me the most is that they're apparently introducing a second Women's Championship, for SmackDown only. Horrible, horrible idea IMO. Just cheapens the other one, especially when there's only three Divas on SmackDown who can actually wrestle.

Although I must say, the idea of Nunzio, Funaki and Colin Delaney being Batista's partners does make me laugh. The hilarity comes from the fact that Batista is the least talented member of that team.

 I hadnt thought of it like that tbh, though it is probably true (jury out on delaney)

But a second womens title would be truly terrible, I heard that they also were considering introducing a 6 man tag team championship, another shocking idea, seeing as they can't sustain a decent normal tag team division.

A 6-man tag title? That's just stupid, I've only heard of one other wrestling promotion that runs one of those these days, and I can't even remember the name of it. That would require some stables, of which we have a grand total of one going around these days. Awful, awful idea.

Another bad thing about the new Women's title (called the WWE Diva Championship, rather embarrassingly - I bet everyone in SHIMMER is laughing their heads off) is that they're adding a totally unnecessary match to Night of Champions - last year it was awful because they had to try and squeeze nine matches on the card, and now they're gonna have to do it again.

Random question, BTW - has anyone in the UK heard of Fighting Spirit Magazine? It's a wrestling magazine that's distributed in the UK, I only just found out about it. I saw a copy at the WH Smith at Waterloo station the other day (next to WWE Magazine on the shelf) and thought it looked a good read, and lo and behold, it was. I'd definitely recommend it to you in particular, sledger. The lead story on this month's cover was about Big Show, and whether or not his career has been a failure overall given his potential. It's a great magazine for any smart mark though, I had no idea such a magazine existed in the UK and was pleasantly surprised.

That really is embarrassing, I can't understand what they hope to gain from doing this either, why the hell do they need a new womens title? It just defies all logic, seeing as the womens title already is the least cared about title by anyone, I mean even anyone who tunes in to see the Divas rolling around with each other doesnt give a crap about the belt ffs.

Secondly..dont think i've ever seen that magazine, though will look out for it, sounds decent, as powerslam spends most of its time praising guys who are pretty damn average. And WWE magazine (though i've never actually bought it) is bound to be crap, and filled with interviews with people like batista that go on about how he is going to beat down so and so and take a title etc.. and then articles that build up how wonderful all the superstars are etc... Thanks for the tip, i'll go down WHSmith later on and see if they have a copy.

Got round to watching the first half of ONS the other day, cba to watch the main events yet. Hardy/Umaga made me lol hard at the finish when the giant matress they had obviously just landed on was moved about two feet and then just left in the background while the King screamed about them "landing right on the asphalt!", dire production. Singapore cane match was awesome though, Big Show going mental and just dicking everything and everyone in sight was awesome. Love Show so much, annoyed that they're putting him back on ECW title run though ffs. Get rid of Batista and make him feud with Edge. His face promo's have the potential to be awesome, unlike Batista.

Need to arse myself to watch the TLC match now. Don't think I can be arsed to watch HHH bury Orton unless someone who has seen it can vouch for it being a particularly good match.

awta, wish they would cut this out tbh, any sort of move that involves a big fall or impact that isnt done in the ring is always done on crash mats, understandable why....but when its so obvious that its NOT on the bare floor it seems kind of pointless that they do this. Best bumps are always inevitably in the ring anyway....also stupid that within a year Umaga has gone from a dominant unstoppable monster heel to being a jobber to pretty much anyone the E choose to give a push. FFS he needs a proper feud in which he goes medieval on someone who is actually worth a crap, though the E's answer to this (as always, sigh) will be "get Chris Jericho to do it" wankers.

TLC was AWESOME. Watch it. HHH-Orton was building up to being really good before Orton got bumped really hard and messed himself up. It's worth watching the ending though, mostly because Orton correctly diagnosed his injury about two seconds afterwards while talking to the ref, and you can clearly hear it. He hits the floor and immediately goes "****! I've broken my collarbone!", and lo and behold, he had.

At least it saves him from jobbing to midcarders for a few weeks, as he did for his entire reign as champ.

Yeah. Never liked him as champ compared to last year - one moment he's making Cena his bitch for weeks on end, the next he's eating Sweet Chin Music five weeks in a row as champ. One thing I did read recently was that WWE were scared of a dominant heel champion meaning a drop in ratings, so they wanted to give the impression that there was a chance Orton could lose his title to a face at any point. How about doing that by giving him some credible challengers, perhaps? FFS.

So, WWE Draft coming up again - time for the annual raping of SmackDown in favour of burying talent on RAW. My predictions:

To RAW:

M.V.P. - I really don't want to see this. Really. He'll get buried by HHH and HBK's vise grip on the main event, just like Kennedy has been. But he's doing nothing right now on SmackDown, you'd think if they had plans to keep him there he'd at least have an angle going on.

Batista - He's feuded with pretty much everyone on SmackDown already, makes sense to send him to RAW to freshen up the main event scene over there.

Elijah Burke - new midcard talent is always good to see, and Burke's been deserving of a chance for a year or so now. Jobbing on RAW is better than jobbing on ECW, anyway.

To SmackDown:

Chris Jericho - this one makes good sense. He'll flourish as a challenger and possibly even champion on SmackDown, and a feud with Edge is potential gold.

Umaga - it's been talked about for ages, and again, it just makes sense. Umaga's a very versatile performer, and moving shows will give him a renewed push after 6 months of main event jobbing.

CM Punk - would say he'd be going to RAW, but he's got a lot of backstage detractors, and jobs way too much for an MITB cash-in on RAW to be realistic. Needs to get away from ECW, though.

John Morrison & The Miz - given the impending end of the SmackDown/ECW "talent exchange", this needs to happen if they're going to keep their titles. Which they should do, they're great.

To ECW:

Carlito - needs a renewed push and more TV time. A move to ECW is the best logical step.

Hardcore Holly - splitting the tag champs up on RAW is the best logical way to get Cody Rhodes partnering Ted DiBiase Jr., as seems set to happen. Plus, Holly's useless anyway and I don't want to have to watch him on RAW.

Trevor Murdoch - will never be anything more than a jobber, really, and he needs to be separated from Cade. Cade's due for a singles push on RAW from the looks of things, so bye-bye Murdoch. 6 months until he leaves the company.

Are those predictions Barney or what you want to happen (ie what's logical)? Most other drafts have been major let-downs or another vehicle to put Trips over (remember the Booker + 2 Dudleys trade for Triple H?).

Hoping Vince pulls his head out of his ass and does something meaningful this time.

Umaga to Smackdown is a dead cert imo, like Barney said this has been in the pipeline for ages. As long as Smackdown doesnt get raped of any real talent I won't mind particularly. And seeing as I heart Chris Jericho, him moving to smackdown so I can see him would be possibly the greatest thing ever, ever.

One for you Rubble, I know you buy quite a few wrestling DVDs, just wondered if you got the RAW 15th Anniversary one? I picked it up in town the other day, quite interesting really, though it does miss out a few things that I thought should be on there.

I had never before seen the infamous "Austins got a F****** gun" Pillman episode before, but having now seen it I would say its just so stupid....why they ever thought this would be a decent idea I cannot understand.

Another weird thing is listening to the huge pop Cena got on his RAW debut, my how things have changed.

Got the Hardy Boyz: Tiwst of Fate DVD yesterday its good but could be greatly improved, there aint that many good matches on it imo and the lack of matches soon where they had lost is a dissapointment. Also there is a lack of tag matches and TLC matches which i think is a shame :( that being said i would recommend it to somoene who would be intrested in reading up on the Hardy's history.

Thing is with the Hardyz, is that despite the fact they are very popular and generally well liked, neither of them have had that many great matches, as a team or on their own. Best match they ever had was at No Mercy 99 in the first ever tag team ladder match vs Edge and Christian imo, I assume thats on the DVD? if not its pretty stupid.

Nah it isn't which i find puzzeling because i love that match especcially the end how Jeff had to jump from Ladder to the other Ladder to grab the money but yeah not on it.

Bit of both, really. It's the ones that seem likely (M.V.P., Umaga, CM Punk) plus the other logical ones. The M.V.P. to RAW one is one I can see happening but really don't want to, whereas stuff like the Y2J one is probably less likely but I would mark out like **** if it did (sledger and I are going to the same SD house show in London in November), and it makes good sense.

I haven't got the DVD, but I've got the 15th Anniversary Show itself on my laptop. The DVD seems decent though, might invest if I can find it cheap. Gonna be buying less wrestling DVDs from now on though, they're way more expensive in England than France. They're usually about £18 over here for a regular PPV, but they're 18 euros in France, which is about £13-14.

Re: Cena, I've actually noticed the amount of boos he gets decreasing recently, probably due to him jobbing at WrestleMania and generally not being booked in the usual Cena fashion. Also, I think if they continue this angle with him and Mickie James, it'll help him out when it comes to getting over positively, given that Mickie is by far the most over face Diva on the roster.

That really is pretty dumb tbh, because that is the only meaningful match that they have ever won as a team, much as I like them and think to myself "yeah, theyre really decent performers" from time to time, I really struggle to think of a match of any note that they have been in that wasnt one of the TLC matches, and then what is even more strange, is I cannot remember an important match they have won apart from the first ever tag team ladder match, similarly all their runs with the tag team titles have been pretty forgettable as well.

Mark out for the Matt vs Edge feud of 2005, that was genuinely good, though more because of what had gone on outside of wrestling rather than anything else.

I picked it up in HMV the other day, pretty decent actually, good match between Brett Hart and X-Pac on there, Jericho (not) winning the world title, Austin attacking Mike Tyson and Vince, sigh, good old days, would reccomend, just a shame they didnt include more full length matches really.

haha been meaning to ask for a while actually, whereabouts are your seats? Mine are on the middle tier looking towards the stage. Would be funny to stop for a chat or whatever.
