I wouldn't mind seeing Kane ending Taker's wrestlemania streak seeing as he is his 'Half Brother' therefore forcing Taker into retirement

Hm, seems like the WWE have changed their mind a bit on Batista and might not having beating Undertaker at Wrestlemania after all, which is fantastic. Personally never been a big fan of Batista and really, I don't want to see ANYONE end 'Takers mania streak, let alone a subpar wrestler like Batista. But we can only hope.
Batista's nothing more than your everyday muscle man.

Looks like the last participant in MitB is going to be Randy Orton. Which definitely leads me to believe it's going to be between him and Edge for the win. They've been building that up for ages now.
i doubt edge will win it for a second time, and i doubt orton will be given a push either, i hope that either punk or kennedy wins it.

It's things like this that just make me so frustrated. Though I admit the internet has played a large role, imagine the reception if Austin appeared with no forewarning.
completely agree, those were the kind of moments that were the best thing to ever happen in the old wwf, like when austin showed up and helped mankind win the world title from the rock, or when undertaker re-appeared on a motorcycle at judgement day in 2000, priceless moments.

Y2J was underated.Look What he did to HHH at H*** in a cell
Y2J was excellent, but his reign as WWE champion was pretty disasterous, its rumoured that vince mcmahon called him "the biggest ever flop as world champ", but he should have been given more time as champ perhaps as a face.

However, big news suggests that he is to return not for mania, but sometime near summerslam for a period, very exciting.

That was probably one of the loudest pops i have ever heard. Here is a video of it. Simply amazing. Those type of events just don't happen anymore. Or like when it was the alliance v WWF, and Austin came down to the ring and handed out stunners left, right and centre.

I know...i watched raw the other day, and just fast forwarded through any non-Austin segments.

Also, does anyone have that WHAT? video. With Austin ripping into Hugh Moriss

These days too many wrestlers either have totally pointless gimmicks (Finlay, the MNM tag team, Booker T since he became King Booker) or have no charisma whatsoever (Batista, Randy Orton).

That's why the only people I'm really interested in since I started watching WWE again (when I got Sky about 6 months ago) are the guys who've been around since when I used to watch it years ago - The Undertaker, Kane, Shawn Michaels, Chris Benoit, the Hardys etc. The only new guys worth considering are Cena, Lashley and the Great Khali.

Yeah since I posted that I've been thinking about it some and I'm in two minds about it. I can see them giving one of them the win to push the feud forward, but then I can also see them having them both screwing each other out of the win to start the feud with, which would make more sense given that they could have those two feuding and then have someone else in the title picture. They still seem intent on pushing Mr. Kennedy to the moon so he's definitely in with a shout.

I swear I feel like I'm one of the only people who loves King Booker. :( That gimmick is so awesome, I swear it cracks me up consistantly. Actually I don't really have a problem with any of the gimmicks of the people you mentioned. xD MNM's gimmick works for a heel team, even if Johnny Nitro is a terrible actor. (Makes up for it with his in-ring work, mind.) Finlay has gone from being the angry fighting irishman to just being a funny heel. And I also love his in-ring work so that's not a problem either. Agree on Batista and especially Rest Hold Orton, though. Don't like either of them.

I don't think John Cena as a face is working at all. The only reason the crowd got into him was when he was the rapping, sneering heel guy, he was like The Rock when he joined the Nation, a ****y heel but even though the crowd booed him, you could tell they wanted to love him. Now they just keep pushing him as this generic good guy and he gets booed by half the crowd anyway, and I wish they'd just give him another heel turn and let him be the bad guy again.

Lashley I feel suffers from a lack of Charisma too, but he's slowly getting better. And I have a soft spot for Khali even though he's generally crap.

The Great Khali is an awful in ring performer, once again kane is being wasted in a meaningless feud with a second rate opponent, its looking likely that edge will win money in the bank 3 later tonight, but i hope kennedy pulls it out of the bag as edge got stale as champion extremely quickly, orton just has nothing going for him, would be nice to see punk win but this is extremely unlikely as he still hasnt "paid his dues" for being in another federation previous to wwe, neither of the hardyz will win but probably make the match a decent spectacle, booker isnt due another push so soon after the last one was particularly mediocre title run, finlay just wont win as he is somewhat bland despite being good in ring.

Carlito should have been in this match and its a damn shame hes not.

in fairness the gimmicks have always been around, mick foley, undertaker and kane for instance have always used gimmicks to maximise their popularity, but its the ones without real gimmicks like rock and HHH that ever reach the true top of the mountain so to speak...

Sounded like a decent PPV, but I don't know why Taker/Batista wasn't the Main Event.
Michaels/Cena was a better match, TBH, although Michaels not winning was extremely annoying, especially given that he tapped out.

Best bit apart from 'Taker winning was Jeff Hardy destroying Edge by jumping off a ladder onto him, while Edge was lying on another ladder extending between the ring and the arena barrier. The ladder underneath Edge broke in half, and I think Edge almost did too. Matt Hardy was so concerned that he even broke character for a second to check that his brother was okay.

Little pissed off that Kennedy beat Punk to the briefcase, TBH. Punk got so close.

Just watching the repeat now. The money in the bank was awesome i thought, Jeff Hardy breaking Edge was one of the best scenes in this WrestleMania. Taker winning gold of Batsita was equally good. The laugh of the Mania was Mr. McMahon getting his head shaved.
