Man, I watched my first Raw and Smackdown this week after something like 3-4 months, and it was as putrid as ever.

I then put in a tape of Summerslam 92 and watched Bret Hart vs. Davey Boy. Helped soothe the pain a little

Rip ECW fellas

There was a meeting between Vince McMahon, Kevin Dunn, and Paul Heyman in regards to changes being made with ECW. A decision has been made to move away from all of the old ECW concepts, characters, fans and everything else. Instead, ECW will just be another brand for WWE, simply with the ECW name. In McMahon's eyes, the old ECW fan base is dead and largely gone, and he's going to go forward with things with that in mind. The crowd's behavior at last Saturday's ECW house show really changed his mind on things.

Paul Heyman was not at the Gorilla Position on Tuesday night as Vince McMahon was the main man running things. Heyman mainly kept to himself over on the sidelines. Although, when someone would come up to him and ask him for feedback, he was open and gave his opinion. Other than that, it was more obvious than ever before that he is no longer the "mad genius behind ECW."

Several of the old ECW referees are already on the way out.

The creativity in WWE currently is at an all-time low, the whole three shows are nothing more than walking contradictions. Everything is old hat, storylines from a decade previous, Fake Kane=Fake Undertake. D-X = Nothing more than middle age tools who give the most juvenile and gay promo's known to man. They might be funny to my WWE mark brother but anyone with a ounce of intelligence knows it the same old ****, trying to evoke the same sort of response as the attitude era.

I know it’s ‘Sports Entertainment’ now but can we at least have some wrestling on show not Khali squash matches. I do not watch wrestling shows for ‘funny’ segments featuring D-X and Vince McMahon trying his best to be Al Pacino, I watch it because I enjoy seeing good wrestling and if WWE are more than happy to have more talking and less wrestling why not do what Nitro did and at least have some credits after the show, so we can see who wrote this ****. It’s a TV show, kayfabe is dead.

As for ECW, it gives Smackdown a run as the most pointless and mind boggling boring show on TV, WCW Thunder was better than this and that is saying something. You have some **** Vampire outside the arena in BROAD DAYLIGHT and if that was not real contempt for it’s audience, you have a crowd full of kids who do not have clue who most of these wrestlers are, it's embarrassing.

I have to agree. Look back 5-6 years at the WWF attitude days, the amount of talent and great storylines that happend is staggering compared to today. Feuds were built up over a number of PPV's, rather than two weeks- such as the foley vs flair match. Just have a search on youtube for WWF attitude and see the amazing wrestlers, feuds and matches that have taken place, compared to Cena being shoved down our throats in an attempt to make another texas rattlesnake.

For the time being, i can only see the popularity of WWE decreasing. Unless they can hire some better writers who vince actually listens too without being too stubborn and manage the roster more effectively, i can see TNA being on par with WWE in a decade.

That wage bill is ridiculous when you consider at least half of them hardly contribute anything worth while to the WWE.

$286,000 for just accompanying a wrestler to the ring.

a feud with edge likely to follow then i assume, judging by the events on raw anyway i would say thats likely.

as for the wage bill, i wasnt aware that half of those were still on the roster.

yeah i have to completely agree there, i remember the jericho & benoit feud a few years ago went on for months, as did the rock & HHH,

speaking of the rock i remembered when he showed up on raw last year sometime to help out eugene and beat the crap out of coach, any idea when his next cameo will be? as that was the last time i can remmeber being genuinely surprised and excited whilst watching wwe.

I'm not sure if he is even on contract with the WWE, and anyway, he is making movies. Would really like to see him come back though, but in some sort of permanent capacity, perhaps once he grows tired of making movies. The rock was gold on the mic and in the ring. Watch this if you want to see some of his great stuff:

And the Kane one i posted earlier

The best days of WWF ended soon after Russo, the head writer at the time, left. Been watching heaps of videos and it just reminds me of how good WWF was :(

Great, another repeated boring feud.

Seriously, can the writers come up with anything new? I am hoping, if Kane is remasked, he might get a big push and title run before he retires, mixing up the main eventers

yeah i watched a few old ones the other day, for me the last truly entertaining PPV was wrestlemania 17, that was the absolute pinnacle of WWF before it began its decline into mediocrity, although even some of the matches on that werent great, it was probably when WWF was at the absolute peak of its popularity, mind you backlash which followed wrestlemania 16 was also brilliant, those were also 2 of the best wwf ppv's i ever saw.

soemthing seriously needs to be done about the maineventers, with HHH and HBK out of contention for the WWE title at the moment the competition for it is pretty poor imo> MInd you its much worse on smackdown, once batista returns and regains his title who the hell is going to challenge him ? mark henry or rey? what a joke, lashley is perhaps another option, but that would mean turning one of them heel which would mean smackdowns amount of faces would just dissapear.

Rock vs Stone cold steve austin main event. God that was awesome.

http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=VfcHDTe-Bvo&search=Wrestlemania 17

I actually saw this on PPV

This vid almost brings a tear too my eye. It is a limp bizkit song though, but it suits.

TLC was so good
Hardcore was so good- why oh why did they have to get rid of it
Angle v benoit- awesome

HHH v Taker- classic

Not to mention the main event!

Don't get those kind of PPV's anymore

HBK requires Knee surgery soon, so he will be out for quite a while. Smackdown is in the dumps anyway.

There are hardly any maineventers anymore. Seems to be restricted to around 4 or 5, with little change in feuds or storylines

I'm sure if/when Jericho wants to wrestle again he will be back on ASAP. Shame he has other interests now.

Is that your own DVD?

More great news:

-Kurt Angle's promo on ECW TV and the clean jobs he's done have been setting the stage for extended time off due to health reasons. The ECW brand was going to be built around Kurt Angle as a top two star, so his departure is a blow to the brand. James Caldwell talks about this situation in the VIP Audio Newsbrief posted earlier today

- It's being said that long-term plans set for Randy Orton involve him feuding with John Cena and Triple H. He will probably be the top heel on RAW (besides Vince McMahon) in the coming year.
