They have not been the same since ECW and WCW went out of business and therefore they have no competition and no reason to improve. So I hope the TNA improves so they get extra motivation to use better ideas.

btw Its now Coach v Batista with Goldust, Vader on Coach's side. Resorting to legends isnt always a ratings booster though.

It also means they cant poach talent from other organizations as much, i dont about you but for me personally wwe have no real "show stoppers" in their new talent.

I dont belive the coach is even going to be in a ring, sad.

Breaking News: 'Major Name' To Appear At TNA Genesis
Report by TNA Wrestling News Staff on 11/08/2005 at 04:46 PM

TNAWrestling just posted the following:

"MAJOR ACQUISITION" TO APPEAR FOR TNA THIS SUNDAY AT "GENESIS"

On Tuesday morning, TNA management informed TNAwrestling.com that the company has come to terms with a "major acquisition" who will appear this Sunday during the live "Genesis" Pay-Per-View.

When reached for comment, TNA executive Frank Dickerson offered the following:

"This is the single biggest jump in TNA history," Dickerson said. "The contract is signed, the travel is set and in my opinion, 'Genesis' just got a whole lot more intriguing."

TNA will have further information on the "major acquisition" this Sunday on the live countdown preshow a half hour before "Genesis".

Note: With the wording of Frank Dickerson, it appears as though this is Christian signing with TNA. As noted on TNAWrestlingNews.com several days ago, Christian does not have a no compete clause. It is rumored a deal was signed in the last several days.

YAAAY!

Captain Charisma is back!!!!!!

Put All Rumors To Rest: The Big Acquisition Is....
Report by TNA Wrestling News Staff on 11/08/2005 at 05:11 PM

For those who keep wanting to speculate, the big acquisition is Christian and nobody else.

The reason TNA didn't announce Christian by name as appearing at Genesis this Sunday is simply because they are not sure on what they will be calling him just yet. The final verdict will be revealed at the PPV on Sunday.

TNA obviously wants to do everything right to try to avoid a legal lawsuit so they will be looking over the matter before 'officially' announcing him by name. TNAWrestlingNews.com has learned that this was said to have been a done deal for quite some time, even before Christian left WWE. The two sides had been talking and a deal was finally signed this past week according to one source familiar with the situation.

They reckon he will be allowed to be named as "Christian Cage" but should be used in full.

The Complete Story on Christian and TNA

To follow-up on the Christian signing with TNA, it really came down to several things.

As reported by TNAWrestlingNews.com, when Jay Reso, also known as Christian, debuts for TNA Wrestling, he should be able to continue using the Christian name that he used in WWE. He will not have to rename himself like past WWE superstars coming to TNA had to do.

The reason for this is he was billed as Christian Cage on the independent circuit early on in his career. At the very worst, WWE will force him to call himself the full Christian Cage name, although that would be somewhat pointless and the good money is he will still be just "Christian." This is very similar to circumstances that surrounded the Honky Tonk Man leaving the World Wrestling Federation years ago and continuing to use that name. The precedent set here was that he was Honky Tonk Wayne in Stampede Wrestling. He was allowed to use the Honky Tonk Man name, then, anywhere he went because he had established the basics of his name and character long before his WWF tenure. It would be the same case with Jay Reso.

Now, some strong reasons a TNA deal appealed to Christian. He has been a close friend of TNA booker and talent Scott D'Amore ever since the two met years ago as independent wrestlers in Canada. Christian also lives in Florida approximately 90 minutes driving time from where the TNA live events take place at Universal Studios. As far as his former WWE contract goes, just to reiterate this point, there is no 90 day non-compete clause to worry about since his contract actually expired. An immediate TNA arrival will occur this Sunday at the PPV.

One last major point to bring up here is also a reason Christian did not resign with WWE. The main reason he didn't sign was because of the lack of a push he was getting despite the fact that he had gotten himself over with the crowd in a major way. However, The Wrestling Observer reports that another big reason is because Christian is currently in negotiations for a significant part (what is being reported as a fifth or sixth lead role) in a major movie to be produced by New Line in February. Christian definitely wants the freedom to take this role. He also reportedly wants some free time where he can study acting and prepare for the role. This would be almost impossible to do while still taking part in a full time WWE schedule. The TNA schedule of usually only taping three (2 Impact tapings and a PPV) days a month could fit him well in this regard.

There had been talks between Christian and TNA before his contract even ran up. He has been upset for months backstage in WWE and had talked to people in TNA about a debut with the company. It's not that TNA 'stole' Christian from WWE. It was just the fact that before Christian left WWE, he knew he was heading to TNA and had a verbal agreement with several TNA staffers. After the contract was up and it was revealed that he didn't have a no compete clause, the announcement was made.

This is brilliant, and I completely understand the whole logic behind it. No push and creative frustrations with WWE and travelling almost 52 weeks a year. With TNA, he can expect quite a big push and subsequent possible main event status.

Also I'm sure he'd like to be with his wife and family over in Florida, and it's pretty good considering it's a 90 minute drive from his house. He'd be stupid NOT to take the TNA deal. Looks like we'll see Christian at TNA Genesis this Sunday.

The bad thing is though, we don't get TNA Impact or PPV's here in Australia so it looks like it's DVD's and the Internet for us Australian viewers.....Jono you've got to give me some sources mate.

I told you Sangrah, I told everyone back in 2004 that TNA would be good competition for the WWE and you should keep interested in it. They continue to take steps forward, from awesome quality PPVs, to big signigs, to a TV deal and now Christian! THIS IS AWESOME! WHOOOO!

To quote Christian from back in 2000, this rocks the body that rocks the party :D

Eddie Guerrero passes away
Nov. 13, 2005

WWE is deeply saddened by the news that Eddie Guerrero has passed away. He was found dead this morning in his hotel room in Minneapolis. Eddie is survived by his wife Vickie and daughters Shaul, 14, Sherilyn, 9, and Kaylie Marie, 3.
Can't believe it, I am so shocked.

This is unbelievably shocking. Eddie was one of the greatest performers in the history of this sport and one of the greatest champions the sport has ever produced.

RIP Eddie,

You'll be missed.

The untimely passing of Eddie Guerrero has put a significant dampner for me on the long awaited debut of my favourite superstar, Christian Cage. However, as passionate as Eddie was for the world of professional wrestling, no doubt he would want the show to go on.

It was very nice to know that TNA had a 'In Memory of Eddie Guerrero' graphic before TNA Genesis commenced, and it shows that Eddie was one of the most respected performers in the history of the company.

Now for a nice note to end this post on,

Spoilers Below: Live from Genesis

Christian Cage joins TNA

We now counted down to reveal the major acquisition in TNA as it was CHRISTIAN CAGE! Christian Cage has arrived in TNA! Christian Cage quickly grabbed the microphone in front of the erupted red-hot crowd within the iMPACT Zone! Christian Cage said that all week people asked him if the rumours were true about him going to TNA.

He said he was here not to see the same damn guy come out week after week to say the same damn thing everytime, nor see a grown man dressed up as a doctor to pull something out of a man’s ***, nor did he come because he was fired. Christian Cage also said he was not low balled by a poor contract offer, the reason he came to TNA was the reason why everyone is in this arena today, and the same reason why everyone is watching Genesis today and that’s because he said quote, “I love wrestling”.

Christian Cage also went on to say that he can crack a joke or two, but he says he is also one of the best wrestlers and that he wants to see wrestling reinvented. He’s tired of the politics. He says today there are two companies, one is old and lacking direction, and the other is TNA!

He said this is something he wants to be apart of it, and in fact, he wanted to be the biggest piece of puzzle in it to where he went to Jeff Jarrett. He’s come to TNA for one thing that has eluted him his entire career; he wants the most important belt in professional wrestling, the NWA World Heavyweight Title. Christian Cage will fulfill his destiny. He then finished by saying, “Because that’s how I roll”.

Scott D’Amore along with Bobby Roode was quick to appear in the ring as he said he was looking for Christian Cage all day. D’Amore said he was happy to see him in a TNA ring more than anyone else, the fans showed us what they thought of that. D’Amore said we’ve gone through a long way and that it’s going to continue.

He told Christian Cage that he understands that Christian Cage wants the NWA World Heavyweight Title but has to politically align himself with the right people in TNA for the balance of power. Bobby Roode then told Christian Cage that he has an opportunity to walk in on something that him and the boys have been working on for the past few years. He then told “Captain Charisma” that he’s other with them or against them.

D’Amore quickly told Roode to zip it and told Christian that he didn’t have to answer right away as D’Amore then gave him a Team Canada t-shirt to put on. Christian Cage got back on the microphone as he said it’s the right size, but it’ll take some time to see if it’s the right fit. Captain Charisma headed backstage as we got ready for the next match.

Another top wrestler is under a "death watch" (this from a wrestling website):

In the latest PWTorch newsletter, editor Wade Keller states quite bluntly that there is apparently a top wrestler wrestling in the WWE today who's considered to be on an "unofficial death watch". He doesn't go on to further elaborate on who this wrestler is, but he does go on to mention how people need to do what it takes to keep him alive, even at the "expense of box office receipts, storyline interruptions" and more.

The deathwatch, which is apparently no secret to most within WWE, is still possibly unknown to Vince McMahon, who would need to be informed. The un-named wrestler, should he pass away, would make the coverage of the shocking and tragic news this week of the passing of Eddie Guerrero look minor by comparison, due to his credentials.

Oh God, I hope that's not true at all. I hope we never find out who that person is and everyone remains healthy.

Also, watching the Raw tribute show to Eddie, I could not help but be swept into all the emotion. I've never ever shed a tear whilst watching WWE, but this Raw many tears came into my eyes. I just couldn't take it anymore after hearing Chavo's and then Benoit's memories of Eddie.

It was a beautiful tribute, but it was so sad to watch. Eddie was an absolute champion and the tribute show was very well done.

After the untimely passing of Eddie Guerrero, WWE and the entire sports-entertainment community is steel reeling from the devastating loss of a champion. The initial autopsy reports on Guerrero have come in. WWE.com spoke with Eddie’s widow, Vickie Guerrero, earlier today.
“It was heart failure. It was from his past – the drinking and the drug abuse. They found signs of heart disease. She (the examiner) said that the blood vessels were very worn and narrow, and that just showed all the abuse from the scheduling of work and his past. And Eddie just worked out like crazy all the time. It made his heart grow bigger and work harder and the vessels were getting smaller, and that’s what caused the heart failure. He went into a deep sleep.
As soon as they saw his heart, they saw the lining of his heart already had the heart disease. There was no trauma, and Eddie hadn’t hurt himself in any way. It answered a lot of questions. I knew Eddie wasn’t feeling very good for the last week. He was home and kept saying he wasn’t feeling good and we thought it was just “road tired.” So we thought he just had to rest. It answered a lot of my questions, too, because he was just so exhausted. She said it was normal because the heart was working so hard.
When he didn’t call me last night and the night before I knew it was for real, because he would call me every night. I miss his phone calls. I cried through the whole thing (last night).
I loved his laugh. His laugh was the best.
We just celebrated his four-year sobriety last Thursday. We just thought we had life by the handful. We thought we had it all figured out. He worked so hard to make a better life for us.
I’m just overwhelmed by how people are coming out. It’s touched my heart a lot.
Everybody was just in awe last night in how beautifully everything was put together.
All my life was wrestling. All he did was take care of them and live for that. And I don’t know what to do now.”
