Night of Champions was a good show. I was really surprised to see The Big Show as Chris Jericho's partner and I was really thinking they would give it to a young star like Dolph Ziggler, but I guess they have other plans.

It was also equally surprising to see CM Punk lose to Jeff Hardy. This loss might just cause CM Punk to turn completely heel and unless Jeff Hardy's contract situation has been sorted out, I think CM Punk might win the World Heavyweight Championship back.

It was awesome to see Christian win the ECW Championship again. The man deserves to be the World Heavyweight Champion on Smackdown but it's great that the WWE are promoting him as the new face of ECW. Christian is now a two time ECW Champion and 'technically' now a four time World Heavyweight Champion having been a former two time NWA World Heavyweight Champion.

He's on four World Championship reigns at the moment but he's still a bit behind his good friend Edge who has nine World Championship reigns.

Dunno what the current state of it is, when it came back it was definitely recognised as one, but it seems to have slipped down to a midcard area now.

I think the real bottom line for this was when Chavo entered the Royal Rumble as the ECW champion, totally undermined it's credibility therein. The fact that the ECW title match at WM 24 was a 10 second squash match further dragged it through the mud.

That said, Christian is by far the most credible and best recognised star they have had hold the title since it's reincarnation (apart from RVD maybe), so who knows.

If we're arguing semantics then technically it should be as the number one title of their show. Realistically it isn't I guess, more or less a springboard title where you groom guys for a big push on Raw or Smackdown.

Haha though I agree, it's funny to look at where a load of the ex-champions have ended up after holding the belt.

Lashley - moved to RAW and then quit in acrimonious circumstances.

Morrison - went stagnant for ages before finally getting some sort of push.

Chavo - now jobs regularly to Hornswoggle.

Punk - has actually made it to some sort of main event level.

RVD - fired.

Swagger - moved to RAW and due a big push no doubt.

Big Show - meh, may as well never have held it, he seems to remain at the same level of the card no matter what happens.

Dreamer - clearly going nowehere, and now that his run as champ is over he will probs get axed as well.

Thought Morrison was groomed quite well when he carried the Miz. What they do with him now is the important thing I guess.

That's terrible for Chavo, but tbh he has about 1% the charisma required to draw money these days and I haven't seen him really fly in the ring since WCW. Think he deserves better but they can't really win by pushing him.

What happened to Rvd? He'd be perfect for ECW, he personifies what the brand is about. Or did they finally get sick of him smoking weed every night and let him go?

They'd take him back if he was willing, no doubt. I think he's happy in retirement, and doing his one-off appearances in Europe, and also at the Rumble and Raw Anniversaries.

But seriously, Chavo as a main eventer?!

NOC was indeed pretty good. Though I thought the crowd were pathetic, I mean I expect smarky ***** in philly (which we got) but not complete indifference. The poor crowd reactions made the event a 7 rather than a 9.

The only match which i thought was poor was the divas title match, but hey, five minutes of Maryse so I could barely care less. The rest of the card was good, the mark in me is chuffed that Jeff is the champ, looks like we get another month of Jeff and Punk, that's not a bad thing, that's a good thing

Love the way Jericho referenced Edge again, if he keeps it up then the tension will be immense by the time Edge returns, can't wait already

Would write more but didn't sleep at all last night, good stuff though, better than i expected. Shout out to the US title match as well, and the WWE title match barring the dire legacy run in, seriously

Just finished watching ECW with Christian vs Zack Ryder as the main event. What a match! Zack Ryder is nothing special but he looked like a huge star out there. Christian is fast becoming like Chris Jericho and Shawn Michaels in that he can have a great match with just about anyone. Watch the main event of ECW, it's the best match on television this week.

I'd contest that, Lashley main evented one proper PPV, RVD was never really a main eventer in any of the promotions he worked in, only holding the world title for one month in a joke of a reign before he got fired. Morrison has never ME'd, Punk has only done a handful. Big Show is the only one from that lot I would consider a proper main eventer, bad as that is.

I doubt his jobbing is to do with anything disciplinary, as has already been mentioned there is nothing much else for him. I guess their thoughts are that he will never get over so may as well get some comedy value out of him.

Yeah, sounds like Shaq was the best thing about RAW this week, not seen it mind. Cena vs Orton for Summerslam doesn't exactly thrill me either.

Lashley would've been at the top if he stuck around.
RVD was always mid to upper card even if he wasn't ME material for whatever reason.
Morrison and Punk are obviously being pushed to the top.

That part was good, but the bit that followed immediately after it with Shaq, Santino and Cryme Time was one of the funniest things I've seen on WWE for a good while. Santino is such a god.
