TNA Hard Justice results:

Petey Williams (c) (with Rhaka Khan) defeated Consequences Creed

Gail Kim, Taylor Wilde, and O.D.B. defeated Awesome Kong (with Raisha Saeed) and The Beautiful People (Velvet Sky and Angelina Love)

Beer Money Inc. (Robert Roode and James Storm) (with Jacqueline) defeated The Latin American X-Change (Homicide and Hernandez) (with Hector Guerrero and Salinas) (c)

Jay Lethal defeated Sonjay Dutt

Christian Cage and Rhino defeated Team 3D (Brother Ray and Brother Devon

AJ Styles defeated Kurt Angle

Samoa Joe (c) defeated Booker T (with Sharmell)

Great to see Beer Money win the Tag Titles, they are the best Tag Team going around today. Apparently AJ Styles vs Kurt Angle was a phenomenal match, and during the Samoa Joe vs Booker T match they teased a Jeff Jarrett return.

Would love to see Jeff Jarett return, he's been missed badly on their shows.

Anyone seen this shoot by Austin on all things WWE? Thought it wa sone of the better and more honest wrestling shoots and makes me appreciate how real to life the SCSA character was. There's 6 parts where he talks about WWE, ECW, Bischoff/WCW, HBK and Taker, his favourite matches, his relationship with JR, why he walked out on the company, the Hall of Fame and there's a lot on Hogan and what he thinks of him.

Not as explosive as other shoots but's that also what makes me find this one to be most believable, apart from Hogan there's no outright condemnation of anyone but a seemingly balanced outlook on wrestling and WWE in particular. I'd recommend it to anyone who was a fan of his.

I don't really rate Shannon Moore as highly as I rate guys like Paul London, Matt Sydal and Charlie Haas all of whom WWE hardly push. It's good to see a guy like Brian Kendrick getting such a good push though.

But Shannon Moore has always been a bland personality. His in ring work is good, but at times sloppy and he has no personality. He still will probably fit in with TNA's X Division but will be no more than somebody like Johnny Devine.
Sydal is getting a big push, considering his size. He's 185 pounds, usually any guy under 200 not named Rey Mysterio wouldn't have a hope in hell in WWE.

Heh had a convo with a mate on Saturday went something like this:

Him: You been watching wrestling lately?
Me: Ya
Him: Yeah me too, what's up with this Punk guy, how is he champ?
Me: Because he's really good but they don't know what to do with him
Him: Oh, what happened to Mysterio, I really love that little guy
Me: Dunno, disappeared off the face of the Earth
Him: Haha, maybe Kane's hiding him in his bag

Looking forward to seeing how this feud pans out, decent RAW too. Still disappointing that Cena v Batista is taking the centre stage over the Title.

Oh but good to see Priceless regain their gold but the damage has been done as far as I'm concerned.

Cena the one taking the fall in this round, hopefully that means the big guy does the job at Summerslam.

It's funny really, I am not at all interested in the feud, but like you, am really hoping that Cena goes over Batista at Summerslam.

A fantastic segment between CM Punk and JBL. WWE really booked this segment well and really solidified Punk as a face who stands up for his principals and ethics and a guy who will not succumb to mind games and peer pressure. You could see the crowd get more and more increasingly behind Punk, which was great to see.

In this day and age, to have a guy like CM Punk must be a god send for WWE. With all the problems they've had with drug abuse, alcoholism they need a guy like CM Punk to be the face and representative of the company. Not to mention that since WWE is now geared towards children and is a family oriented show, having a champion like CM Punk who doesn't drink, smoke or do drugs sends out a really good message.

Man, I was marking the hell out at the possibility of Masked Kane being back, but they've failed to pull the trigger on re-masking him, again. However, this Mysterio thing is pretty intriguing - what the hell did Kane mean when he said Rey was "battered beyond all human recognition" or whatever? At least they've finally found something for Rey to do on RAW, too.

Very impressed with the Punk-JBL segment, JBL referring to ROH as "some no-name independent" made me laugh. They did a great job of putting Punk over the way he should be put over. I'd be very surprised if he didn't win at SummerSlam, too. They need him to cleanly beat a big-name heel sometime soon, after that misguided mini-feud with Batista.

Also, I love it when Santino wins, just for his victory celebrations. And when Regal wins, because he's awesome. So overall, a pretty solid RAW, especially given that Cena and Batista are no longer Tag champs.

Bad news that Randy Orton has re-injured himself for another three months, though, by (fairly stupidly) riding a motorcycle - although it was hilarious that Cole misread WWE.com's estimation that he had been thrown 30 feet from his vehicle and said he'd be thrown "three hundred feet!".

EDIT: Apparently, the 300 feet estimate was actually correct. Bloody hell.

Still waiting for RAW to find it's way onto Youtube to see the Punk v JBL stuff but pretty sure this Orton injury is a work. Honestly doubt he'd be stupid enough to do something as dangerous while still in rehab.

EDIT: Actually just found it now. Bloody Americans and their mm/dd/yy bollox.

I'm not sure if it is a work or not, but if it's legit then he's lucky to be alive.

It must be said that ECW doesn't get a lot of love on this thread and I don't watch the show, but I might have to start watching from now on. Matt Striker is the new colour commentator for ECW and I must say from some clips of ECW I've seen on Youtube, Striker quite possibly could be the best colour man WWE have had since JBL.

Striker is knowedgeable, charismatic, articulate and most importantly he's entertaining behind the microphone. It was probably evident that he wouldn't be successful as a wrestler, but his microphone skills are top notch and this job could be the best thing that's going to happen to him.

His commentary on the Evan Bourne (Matt Sydal) vs Bam Neely match this week was fantastic. Here's the link to the match, watch it for Sydal's fantastic ability and also watch it for Striker's commentary. Most people here won't be disappointed once they hear it, because he's a lot better than the likes of King, Tazz and Adamle.

It's not a work.

Former WWE champion Randy Orton was involved in a motorcycle accident near his home Sunday night. Orton, who has only been riding motorcycles for a month, said he was riding around a sharp curve on a steep hill home when an oncoming car veered into his lane causing him to widen his turn. He then struck a curb and was thrown from his bike. He collided with the ground, knocking him unconscious. In his words, Orton "bounced and rolled just under 300 feet, landing in a ditch."

"When I came to, I knew I had rebroken my collarbone," said Orton. "When the police and fireman got there, they asked me 'Where's the guy who was in the wreck?' and I said 'It was me.'"

Orton, who was wearing just shorts and a sweatshirt, only sustained the rebroken collarbone.

"Without a helmet, I would be dead," said Orton. "Now that I have a newborn daughter, so much was going through my head."

Although the initial prognosis is that Orton will not need surgery, this injury will set him back an additional three months before he can return to the ring.

Orton did have one final message for his fans ... "I will ride again."
Just the most stupid thing ever that Orton wasn't even wearing leathers or anything. He is definitely lucky to be alive, but if he had been seriously injured then it would be his own fault.

Incidentally, ECW is now infinitely more entertaining with Striker behind the announce desk, he's brilliant. With any luck, within a year or two we'll have J.R. & King and Cole & JBL reunited behind the desks, and T-Grish and Striker could be a great team by then. Oh, and also on the ECW front, Ricky Ortiz and his marketing ideas are quite amusing. It's just a shame he seems to suck in the ring. It's alright though, 'cause we have Evan Bourne to make up for him. I still can't believe how well Sydal can do that SSP.

Oh, and did anyone else see Brock's UFC fight on Saturday? He obliterated the guy. Hit one of the biggest right hands I've ever seen early on, and from then on it was a foregone conclusion, even though Herring held on 'till the end. Good to see him winning.

Mick Foley is going to TNA!

Even though it's 'The Sun' and they've quoted a mysterious 'friend' of Foley, it's becoming more apparent that Mick Foley is quitting WWE and going to TNA. Here's the link to the article.

http://www.thesun.co.uk/sol/homepage/sport/wrestling/article1553248.ece

Some interesting quotes from the article:

“Mick's body cannot handle a full time schedule, even in TNA.

“But he's hell bent on doing everything he can to further his legacy and put them on the map.

"So Mick's plan is to wrestle select dates, like Sting currently does.

“He feels he will legitimately make a big difference in the way TNA Wrestling is perceived by the public!”

Don't know whether this is accurate or not. As probably the biggest TNA fan and supporter on this thread, I'm excited. It'll be a fresh change and give Foley the chance to work with some of the most talented wrestlers today.

I can only imagine the good that will come from Foley working with the likes of Abyss, Samoa Joe, AJ Styles, Chris Sabin and Alex Shelley. Not to mention he can work with the likes of Kurt Angle, Christian Cage and Booker T again.

I hope it's certainly true. Foley has done all he can in the WWE and he really doesn't have much more to offer. A different environment will do him a world of good.

Brock was on completely his game. He's proven that he belongs in MMA.

Very interesting to see this. I think I'd rather see Foley as a big fish in a small pool than as an announcer in the biggest pool there is. While he has done pretty much all he can in WWE, he still has a lot to offer to the business, as one of the greatest mic workers of all time, one of the biggest names in the history of the business and one of the most popular names going around. If he comes to TNA it'll result in a HUGE spike in TNA ratings - I for one will certainly be watching iMPACT a lot more often.

I do hope, however, that he returns to the SmackDown announce table for SummerSlam. The prospect of Foley calling a HIAC match featuring Edge and the Undertaker is just too appetising.

Ok since this is one of the big 4 PPV's coming up anyone want to join me and tempt fate with predictions?

Here's mine:

Edge v Undertaker: Hell in a Cell:

This is the PPV right here with this match. Batista and Cena might think that they're the show but they neither can compare to a big Undertaker gimmick match. Edge yet again has been ultra impressive in his work and has carried the feud on his back for weeks now. He really deserves the blowoff after making this feud what it is but I just can't see him getting it.

Winner: Undertaker clean. (Unfortunately)

First time Ever: Cena v Batista

Although I do like the idea of putting arguably the two most over guys going right now in a big money match I can't help but feel this feud has been rushed a bit and as such the build has been slightly disappointing for me. Don't expect much from the match but Cena will try and bust his ass to make the roid freak look good so for that alone I hope he gets the fall. Expecting a lot of staredowns and rest holds for this one.

Winner: Not sure, hope it's Cena but I think it's almost a lock this is going to be an extended feud, probably up till Survivor Series so don't expect a clean or even decisive result here.

WWE Championship Match: Triple H v Great Khali

This feud has played out a lot more watchable than I ever imagined it could have been and surprisingly WWE haven't gone near any racial crap which I was almost certain would've happened where Triple H is involved. The amount of actual work done by these two is pretty even so to say who deserves the blowoff, I'm not sure but I sure enjoy a Triple H loss more than most so hope it's him who does the job.

Winner: This is tricky. On one hand there are reports that H wants some time off to spend with his wife and new born but on the other hand it's bee Khali who's been booked stronger in this feud and I've never once seen Triple H give up so much ground in a feud and then proceed to do the job. So I'm going Triple H and clean.

World Heavyweight Title Match: CM Punk and JBL

JBL is so damn good on the mic and I've been really impressed by how he's been able to baby step Punk through this feud and generate a good amount of heat for himself too. That said Punk has all the tools to be the modern day Bret Hart but this feud and match is absolutely pivotal to whether or not they can get him to that level in public perception.. He's already been booked badly since getting the belt and needs to get some huge wins to get him to the level they hope for him. One of the major problems for me about this matchup is that we've already seen this match on TV a few weeks back and it was nothing special so what's the incentive to go buy the match for the borderlines? I feel they missed a trick with Jericho running as hot as he is right now and the possibility of getting HBK in on the feud could've given it longevity and some sick matches too.

Winner: Has to be Punk and strong. If it isn't then RAW creative can go **** themselves hard as they'd have proceeded to waste their biggest young stud in their stable.

IC Title match/ Women's Championship Match: Kofi/Mickie vs Santino/Beth Phoenix
First time in a long time I might not regard a diva's match as piss break time for the show. Santino's been fantastic recently and his comedy coupling with Beth has been one of the high points of most shows.

Winner: As much as I want Kofi to get pushed and enjoy Mickie being champion the other couple have carried this feud and it would make for great TV to see Santino hold some gold. So hopefully it's them.

ECW Title Match: Mark Henry v Matt Hardy

Haven't watched a second of this so don't know or care really

Winner Meh, hope it's hardy though.

Jeff Hardy v MVP

This has the potential to be an excellent match. Both thse guys have worked hard in the ring and both will take some massive bumps for the crowd in this one, but I think MVP has taken the feud to another level and has absolutely owned on the mic all the way through, hoping he gets the fall here.

Winner: Like I said above hope it's MVP but wouldn't be surprised or disappointed to see Jeff get it. Nothing clear cut here as I can't decide who needs the win more but think MVP deserves it a bit more.

All in all, hope it's a great show. :)

Agree with all the predictions made by Duffer.

In response to the Orton injury, the guy must be an idiot, if it's true that he was only wearing shorts and a T shirt then he's damn lucky he didn't require a hell of a lot of skin grafts, what an idiot though, you would have thought the fact that he had recently had a baby girl would have registered with him before he got on the bike, and as said previously, anyone who rides a bike when recovering from another serious injury must be a complete jackass, just glad that nobody else (or Orton) was killed or maimed in this incident.

World Wrestling Entertainment has come to terms on the release of ECW Superstars Stevie Richards and Colin Delaney, Raw tag team Robbie & Rory of The Highlanders, SmackDown Diva Cherry, and WWE referee Wes Adams as of Aug. 15, 2008. WWE wishes them the best in all their future endeavors.
Not really surprised about any of these, its weird to think that Stevie Richards had been employed in pretty much the capacity of "jobber" for the best part of a decade and hadn't been fired long ago. Delaney will not be missed, his miserable attempt at a heel turn was hard to stomach. Again, surprised that the highlanders weren't axed long ago, as it was clear they had no real future, and the TNA incident probably put the final nail in the coffin for them. Bit of a shame about Cherry...always enjoyed watching her..
