Also, why book your monster heel to look weak by needing a distraction and a cheap shot? Terrible booking. Many other ways that match could have gone and they chose a terrible, contrived finish which undermined the man they are trying to build.
I see what you are saying but can't say I completely agree. At the end of the day he was never going to make cena tap but still did a number on him.

Would you have booked him to get the 100% clean win?

I thought it was ok tbh - not quite how I would have done it, but I have no great objections. This match should have been saved for WM though imo. Now that it's been done once I think it'll take a lot to get me enthused about seeing it for a second time, especially as Cena will almost certainly win.
In fairness, I thought Cena sold the **** out of being out cold.

Not convinced by him as a lone wolf type. I think his ring work and else are fine, but nothing especially noteworthy. His whole schtick worked a lot better when it was the Wyatt family altogether. Now they've been split up I don't really get what the point of any of them are as singles competitors.
I really hate Wyatt's ring work. He doesn't do much/ any chain wrestling and his matches have long breaks (usually with him doing the crab thing).

I've often wondered whether Montreal was a work all along. I know it sounds a bit tin-hat conspiracy stuff but in the long run they all got over in one way or another from it. Bret gets his high horse, the asshole McMahon gimmick took off and Michaels got hated enough to really put Austin over. Then a decade later they get some decent tv when they patch it up. Plus I imagine they've made a ****load of cash with books DVDs etc surrounding it.
Kevin Nash is convinced it's a work too
It just isn't. People's obsession with everything being a work is brutal. My man Solomonster deals with this in such great fashion.

It definitely wasn't, I agree.

Not sold on this solomonster bloke though sorry

Some CZW guy has brutally torn into a crowd at the old ECW arena. His rant is so tough that it makes you wonder how bad the crowd must have been compared to WWE's last night.

You're a tool ffs. Bloke knows his stuff and has good views, even if you disagree. As a wrestling fan can't see how listening to him discuss random issues/events from the 80s and 90s isn't fun.

Just listen to non-Triple H stuff then if you're going to be a crybaby about it ya fanboy.

I think it is partially the linear, simple booking and extraordinary world-class talent but also mainly that quality is easier in a smaller arena with minimal exposure per week so you can tell good stories.
Promo scripting is also not too tight. The performers do their own thing a lot like the 90s according to Triple H on Austin's podcast.

thought even just finishing it with the first submission hold, instead of the above, would have been better

Meanwhile what the **** was with that first match. You've got your big free PPV and you open with a 3 on 3 tag team match featuring ****ing kane, ****ing big show, ****ing ryback and that other guy. Literally nobody cares about Kane and Big Show anymore We never want to see a stupid KO punch again. You could have just had Dolph and Seth go at it for awhile, then those bozos can interfere and then Randy can come in. (also doesn't it kinda feel like Randy and Seth's feud should start up again after he cashes in?)

And what the hell are Dolph and Bryan even gonna do at WM now

and why'd Ambrose and Barrett have to end like that

Stardust's backstage thing was cool, tag team was great, Rusev is the best

Makes me sad to see what they're doing with Dolph and Ambrose :(
I'm just done with Big show and Kane ffs.

Atleast Dolph got his moment at Survivor Series... Even though Cena just brought back the authority a few weeks later.

HHH's return in 2002 trumps all pops tbh
Nah Kurt Angle's return after the Wrestlemania match with Brock was so much better. The sound level? Yeah depends on the arena capacity but the audience were into the whole face/heel thing for him that night. No one said "You suck!" to his music and he being the legend that he is played the song again from the start in the ring and made them say "You suck!". Was epic.

And yeah what was up with the crowd? They reacted to virtually nothing. When Sting pulls out his bat for the first time in the WWE, you go nuts ffs. That moment deserved a better crowd.

HHH 2002 pop was really long, but tbh Brock's return in 2012 trumps it pretty easily on noise level imo. Maybe even Rock's return in 2011.

Haha tbh I literally only listened to maybe four minutes of one. I didn't like it but will give him a proper go sometime. Just wanted to annoy you.

The reason I switched off is because he came off as really dumb when explaining the Savage/Liz/Hogan thing though, so I never got to the HHH/Chyna bit.

Also. I'm not really that much of an HHH fan. Certainly not a fanboy for him.

His point that one of the greatest feuds/angles of all time - the Mega Powers, was basically built around a female manager, was absolute gun. Weird that you turned it off after that but fair enough.

Listen to his other stuff.

It was built around a female, but what he didn't acknowledge/realise was that she was a vehicle in the feud. He made out that wrestling is real and the only reason they had a match was because of Liz, not that the main event of Mania 5 was decided in late 87, with everything else booked to accommodate it.

Perhaps I was just in a bad mood that day. But to me he didn't come off too bright at that point.
