Why should Kenny join his friends in AEW and not WWE? They don't owe him anything and after few years they wouldn't even care about him. He shouldn't let emotions come in between his career. He's at top of his career right now and WWE can make him a bonafide superstar.

Anyway, key takeaway is that American fans are awful. Some bloke sitting behind me did not shut up for the entire show.

Nobody cares that you watched Shingo vs El Generico in PWG in 2009, you self-indulgent ****er.

Meanwhile the bloke directly next to me was also checking the BBL scores during breaks. Hero.

Last three matches were great. Rest of card disappointed. Opening with Ibushi vs. Ospreay was a mistake in the end.

Also can triple threat tag matches die in a fire? Such a dumb rule set.

Tornado tag/TLC sure, but the whole one team isn’t in the match until another accidentally tags them in is so ****.

Crowd was absolutely molten for Okada, holy ****. The atmosphere in the entire arena turned on its head when he came out and lasted until the end of the show.

I don't know what I'll make of the show in the end, but being there live was just an incredible experience. My ****ing throat is dead.

Watching it at the Dome was definitely a different experience. I'm not sure I liked the actual wrestling nearly as much as live. You lose a lot without the close up camera angles and the commentary. Everything feels a bit faker for some reason as well. Anyone throwing soft punches or kicks looked really bad. It made me miss a Goto or Shibata match on the card somewhere.

I still had a lot of fun, though. The atmosphere was really good. I had no negative experiences at all with obnoxious fans or anything. Everyone I meet was respectful and knowledgeable. I had a stunning girl seated next to me that knew ten times more than me and was on the edge of the seat almost the entire event which was really cool.

It's interesting experiencing how the Japanese crowd reacts to certain people. Sanada was surprisingly over. Okada was really popular. Naito and Tanahashi as well obviously.

I sat a row or two away from one of the female screamers which was interesting. I was a little disappointed that she was responsible for screaming multiple names (Kushida, Okada and Tanahashi). I was hoping there'd be a different girl for each wrestler but she had her guys for sure.

Beer girls were cute. Probably 35. LIJ merch everywhere. Pretty much half the people around me went for a piss during the Cody/Juice match, including myself. HUGE LINES but super efficient are the Japanese. Barely a wait for a hundred odd people. Strong Zero 9% cans are lethal and dangerously cheap at the local 7-Elevens. The people I went with had zero pro wrestling experience but seemed to enjoy it. Jericho is definitely a reliable hand in entertaining the crowd if they don't know the backstory at all. Definitely came away with more appreciation for him after the event.

Matches seemed kind of short, even more so live. Especially the Kushida match. I was really looking forward to that one but it was a bit of a non-event in the end. The event itself finished like an hour and a half earlier than what I thought it would.

Meltzer said there was NJPW posters and stuff all around the city and while I wasn't close to the Dome for my trip, I kind of have to disagree. Saw a few posters on trains, yeah. But in general throughout Shibuya, Akihabara, Shinjuku, etc. there wasn't much at all. A lot of the people I talked to knew very little about the event at all.

Omega's a bit of a loss for New Japan, even with all of their talent. I'm glad the rest of the Elite are gone, though.

The Cody vs. Kenny storyline was one of my favourites of 2018, but that was more from BTE than anything in ring. The Cody triple threat was good, but that was after the feud.

Is Omega actually going?

If he doesn't, only real loss is not being able to develop Hangman imo.

Kenny has a chance to become a bonafide superstar or do the same thing he's been doing since past few years which has halted him from becoming a superstar.

Meltzer: "Kenny is possibly leaving New Japan. NJPW will maintain their relationship with ROH. AEW is out."
